You're pretty funny...while it is true I don't post much, I have owned GT-Rs continuously since 2008...I'm on my second one (like yours, a 2015), and I'm sure you know as well as I do that the entire high performance driving world (which was upended in 2008 by the GT-R) has completely surpassed it. So yeah, we can outrun all the family sedans we want...but just avert your eyes when you see a Z06, 911 Turbo, M5, etc, or any new high performance car pulls up next to you...if that's the kind of thing you care about. So get out of here with your high post count and your newbie ownership of a used GT-R...:rofl2:

ooooooo yay! finally someone to play with. :stirthepot:

i have already put down a newer 911 turbo about a week into ownership. just fyi to get that out of the way.

new M5 yea that now has a touch faster 1/4 mile time but it looks sooooooooooooo blah. thats the equivalent of LS swapping a malibu. yea it's fast but looks like trash. also, M5 is 102-110k before options. looking at much more if you add any package or option. personally for that money i'd get a mclaren 570S. i have seen those for 150K barely touched at the auction.

and Z06 from a roll. dig they wont hook it's game over.

c'mon now calling me a newbie because i have 1 GT-R, yet my knowledge surpasses anything you got.

just because you can pay for a car, doesn't make you a car guy. :tiphat:

Not a car guy?!!? I like you, kid, you make me laugh! Believe me, I know what I'm talking about...Anyway, that M5 price will plummet on the used market in a year or two (just like the 2015 GT-Rs did, which allowed you to get one, lol!) While it's true the GT-R is pretty fast from a dig, most displays of testicular fortitude on the street are from a roll, and our cars are pretty weak at higher speeds. I fixed that by just not racing. And (just so you know I'm a car guy), I also have a 2017 370z Roadster, a 2003 Evo (that I have had since new), a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000Gt VR4 Spyder in minty condition, and a slightly beat up WRX that my kid uses.

P.S. If you beat a newish 911Turbo, the guy didn't know how to drive (just fyi to get that out of the way).

see....i was enjoying this, but then you went douchey, and slid in a cunty little comment. this wont end well for you here.

but for the moment ill play along.

obviously the M5 price will plummet....its a BMW. they do not hold value. a child knows that, so not impressing me with your "knowledge" just yet. keep trying though. :ugh2:

moving down the list here, the GT-R does lose value quickly but not anywhere near a BMW. a new GTR today loses 20k off the top instantly. 2018's at auction 85-95k right now and not the BS 99,999 "pure" model.

however, 09's still holding decent considering their MSRP was 69k and low mileage ones are still going for 45-55k at auction. so not a terrible loss.

ummmm that car list doesnt make you a car guy. just means you bought cars......and not that great showing of taste either.

Lol! Which was the douchey comment? And an internet discussion not ending well? Heaven forbid! Also (and I'm sure you know this), almost no GT-Rs sold for the "base price"...there were almost none of them available in the states at that trim level, so they basically all sold for a sticker of about $76k...but they still hold value relatively well. And which of those cars suggest poor taste in vehicles?

you've had a few, but one was more notable than the others.

and yes of course you agree.....because i'm not wrong :tiphat:

as for your list of cars i'm sorry its not that great. every teen in my area has an evo or WRX and neither car is that great. now if you have some 800+ monster Evo that you drag race yea points for that. but if it's just a 03 stock evo......meh.

the VR4 at least has a bit of "oh wow look at the off the wall stuff they put in a Mitsubishi" like active aero and 4 wheel steer. i will say twin turbos always helps the cause in pretty much any situation. thats about it.

Man, I wish it was a stock Evo...then I could sell it for what I bought it for in '03. It's modded to about 420whp. It still kept its value decently, but modded Evos are a dime-a-dozen. The VR4 is a Spyder...a very rare hard top convertible of which there are probably only a few hundred left (it was the first hard top convertible available in the US since Ford did it in the 50s). Have you ever driven an Evo?

I have driven an evo. Good car just wasn’t a fan. Turbo and awd is always a good combo just personally car wasn’t my cup of tea.

Plus I went with the Z because there were no 370s in my area. Turn your heard either way and there’s a wrx or evo. Go to any local show/meet and it’s flooded with them and maybe 2 are done right.

I found the Evo to be an amazing car. Slightly better than the Z in fun factor BUT. It really had a lot of quality control issues I couldn't live with. So the Z won hands down. The Z is a faster car, stock as well.

ok....i'll begin.

this article is laughable. it didnt judge the car on the car.

it's judged on.......

"Is there a strong business case for the vehicle? We are a business website, after all.

Did our reviewers agree that the vehicle should be included? We have to come to a consensus, even though we might disagree on some particulars.
Was the vehicle objectively excellent? There has to be a wow factor of some sort.

Did the vehicle stand out from the sea of competition, particularly when it comes to technology? A Car of the Year finalist has to be special, and we're also a technology website.

Can we strongly recommend buying or leasing the car? We demand to know whether we'd buy the vehicle ourselves if we had the resources."

and whomever reviewed it answered that a stinger "stood out from the sea of competition" yet the tagline said it beat out the performante and the 812 superfast almost had me falling out of my chair laughing.

also, if you have a handful of randoms "reviewing" cars that i'm assuming they cant drive and most can only afford a stinger i wonder what they'd pick.

wonder how much Kia paid for this article.....:stirthepot:

FPenvy 11-19-2018 01:50 PM

look at the front end and tell me you dont see 4-5 stolen design items. it's sad that people think this car is special :bowrofl:

17000 units sold of the stinger so far. For a new and foreign sports sedan that's pretty damn good. Especially one with a Kia badge.
