Bluemeanie 12-05-2009 11:47 PM

Damn!

From a fellow vette owner I'm sorry to see that. Glad you're ok though. You can pick up a '06-7 Z for about 35-40K with low miles. Are you on the corvetteforum.com?

I loved my '04 modded Z but it's in Bahrain now :icon17:

Good luck with your search

Crash, I'm very sorry to hear about the Vette but happy to hear you're alright and doing well!

I know you won't get the GT-R but maybe a Twin Turbo Z34? :D

I prefer the C5Z over the C6Z. I may at some point buy a C6Z, but right now, I just miss my C5. :) The feeling was very raw and I always felt like I was directly connected with the road. Driving that car made me feel so completely different.

No doubt. You'll be back in the saddle before you know it

Good luck with your search!

Update:

So the woman is claiming all sorts of damages and injuries now. She's saying I'm at fault. (I guess I made her drive without a license and fall asleep at the wheel.) So I guess it's war. Really sucks. I was hoping this would just get handled, she'd tell the truth, and I'd get back to life as usual. If this costs me to the point that it eats into the money they owe me, I'm going to be really pissed.

Sounds like she talked to a lawyer, knew she was screwed without a license and is trying to get something out of it. Got to love the American way, cannot win...SUE THEM!

Togo 12-08-2009 07:06 PM

fucking bitches suck balls!

Danny3.7 12-08-2009 07:15 PM

Sorry for your loss, it's such a shame. Really glad you came ok though. The investigation should prove you are not at fault. My g35 was totaled and that's how I ended up in a new Z. Good luck.

semtex 12-09-2009 07:32 AM

Ugh, this latest development sucks. Are there by chance any red light cameras at that intersection?

I wish! There's been LOTS of accidents at that intersection. And by lots, I mean at least 3-4 a month. No cameras at all. I'm going to see if there's anyone that had any surveillance cameras around that could see the intersection.

kdo2milger 12-09-2009 01:42 PM

i saw an 09 vette on an auction show the another night that would have made you nut br0!

As long as the cops are on your side I think you'll be ok.

dszombiex 12-09-2009 04:55 PM

I'm really sorry to hear this. With all the stories of Z's and other nice cars getting hit recently then people either running or trying to falsely sue it makes me not want to drive anymore.

If you need any help sorting this bitch out give me a holla. I'll come out with my tire iron and we'll fix 'er up good as new :stirthepot:

Crash 12-09-2009 07:51 PM

HAHA!!! LOL

Tire iron is too fast. :D

:iagree: she can lie all she want's, when you do the phone interview with the insurance company you nail her on the interview and slap her with the police report, she's going to milk her insurance company and in the end they'll drop like a rock!

I know the feeling. Sorry to hear about all this. Lawyer up quick and if you haven't already done so, get to the hospital and start seeing a chiropractor. Trust me, the payout in the end is substantially bigger if you do so. And DON'T give her insurance any statements!!!!! Only speak to your own insurance adjuster. When the other side calls, don't even answer it.

Crash 12-09-2009 10:48 PM

Good advice. My lawyer was supposed to get a hold of me today but was in court all day (so I was told). Not a good start, but I was also told by my insurance company that once I get my lawyer, I'll no longer be able to talk directly with my insurance company or theirs. Everything will be required to be run through my lawyer. That's how I'd prefer it in the first place. I'm really too busy to be dealing with this as is.

I have to see a doctor. Over the past week I've had some real pains in my back. I didn't hurt at all until 3 days after the accident. Before the accident I spent 4-5 days at the gym every week. I won't go to the gym until I get checked out. This may also mean (even after I get looked at by a doctor) that I will no be going to the gym for some time. It's pretty unfortunate since I get out of shape rather quick. This also means that I will not be able to do anymore work in front of the camera for some time.

Luckily I just got a new girlfriend, so I won't NEED the industry too much. LOL

KillerBee370 12-09-2009 11:00 PM

Yeah what happened to me is that after my accident, I didn't talk to anyone except my lawyer who handled everything beautifully.

As far as the pain coming on later, this is actually a common occurance with soft tissue damage. I went right away on the same day as my accident just to nip it in the bud but honestly the stiffness (never really had any pain other than the daily result of close quarter combat training I was doing at the time). I did see a chiropractor twice a week for about a month and another doctor wrote up some prescriptions for muscle relaxers and pain killers (I still have most of them as I really didn't need them).

Anyway, hang in there. It takes some time (months in my case) to get the payout but it is worth it and the most important thing is that you are ok.

Long story short, I was "male talent" for a while and now I do marketing and web-development for the industry. Occasionally I might do a video here and there, but only because I'm like an understudy now. LOL My girlfriend is OK with me being in the industry, and in fact likes it.

But I'm working to get out of the industry right now... Thanks to the tube sites and what not, my income is going down the crapper.

Crash 12-11-2009 02:39 AM

BTW, update:

So the lady likely DIDN'T have insurance and the insurance was the registered owner's insurance for the car. I doubt this will effect me, but now I understand why she's fighting this so hard. If the owner of the car lent an unlicensed person the car to drive, and that person gets into the accident, the insurance company isn't required to cover it. That being said, if *I* was at fault, there'd be no problem on her side.

This totally makes sense to me because I couldn't figure out how she'd have her own insurance but no license. Insurance companies just don't give insurance to unlicensed drivers.

I talked to my lawyer today over the phone. I told him the basic story about what happened, and he said it'd be a difficult case to fight, but then I told him she didn't have a license and he changed his tone completely. So I guess that's a good thing. I'm hoping the police report is as on my side as the police were that night.

I wish there was a witness.

MightyBobo 12-11-2009 05:18 AM

Lol...sounds like they're f-ed in the A, if thats all true.

Good luck man, I think you'll be fine in the end.

No need. An accident investigation can tell the tale. You'd be amazed at what they can tell just from skid marks on the road!

don't you have no fault insurance or coverage for uninsured motorist where you live? just have your company fix the car and avoid all the hassle and lawsuits and crap. and if you're not at fault like you claim, your premiums shouldn't increase.

HAHA. That car is absolutely totaled. Either way, my insurance is taking care of it. My lawyer said he'll get the insurance company to expedite the payment process and get things settled. After talking to my lawyer today, I'm feeling a lot better about the whole thing.

Crash 01-04-2010 09:42 PM

Update:

So my lawyer is back in town and hopefully kicking butt. But in the mean time I went and looked for another Vette over the weekend.

I'm 99% positive I found the car I'm going to buy. It's an 04 Z06 with a fully built motor, heads, blower cam, and a P1SC Procharger blower. It makes 570HP to the ground on a safe tune. The car was built by a reputable company in my area and tuned at sea-level. They think the car makes about 700HP at the crank. They backed the first tune down because it was starting to lean out at 590RWHP, so at 570RWHP it's safe. There's all the other necessary mods to support the power and the car is solid.

Anyway, the car is perfect inside and out. The interior looks untouched (other than the gauge pod) and the paint is flawless. 17K miles on the clock with just the one owner. He's selling it because he wants to buy a Mercedes C63 I think.

It drives just like my car did until you get into the boost (which hits around 1500RPM). The blower is pretty quiet from inside the cab. You can hardly hear it from outside. Although, when you get into the boost and let off, the blow-off valve is quite loud. LOL It's totally daily driveable. Dropping the hammer in 2nd gear was crazy. FAR faster than my Z06 in first gear.

Anyway, just waiting for the settlement checks and I'm going to go pick this car up.

semtex 01-05-2010 08:03 AM

Dang, that car sounds like a blast to drive! Congrats on finding your next ride!

Glad everything is okay, I went looking for ur post about this when I saw your sig say "2002 Corvette Z06 - Totaled" lol. I understand how that goes, had a 2 good cars totaled before (one my fault cuz I was changing the radio stations and not looking, the other theirs). Get urself that Vette

Crash 01-10-2010 02:25 PM

Yeah... The back therapy is kind of working and my lawyer is getting is arse in gear. So things should - hopefully - go smooth. (Although nothing ever does.)

This was an awesome car. It's just a shame about it, it really is. I miss driving it so much. Especially right now because I'm driving my Z32. :D I'll accept the money from the insurance company when I know if my friend wants to buy back the wrecked Z06. I'm giving him until Monday to give me an answer. They want $7K for the car. But they take that 7K out of my check at the time they send it to me.
