2017 Lexua LC500 coupe

https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/01/...t-impressions/

Not bad looking. Lexus ABSOLUTELY NEVER IMPRESSES me, and though I'm not blown away. This is the nicest car I've seen them build in a long time. Can't believe Lexus will have 3 coupes running simultaneously. Hopefully, this one will feel more raw in terms of performance.

I'm pretty sure this is about $20k more expensive but I'm sure the Q60 will perform better.

The Q60 isn't ugly. It's just not as eye popping as the concept. I'll reserve my opinion on the Q till I see it's ipl or equivalent and in a variety of colors. Red IMHO isn't a great color unless it's on an exotic. The silver concept was nice.

I read this will be released next spring, and will start just under $100K. Sexy as hell but I'm too poor lol.

ZKraken22 01-17-2016 09:46 PM

The fact that it has the same engine and same power as the RC F ***** everything up though. At least have 500hp with that V8 and 10 speed at AT?

For 100k it will under perform anything in its class. Score one more for Nissan in terms of performance.

RicerX 01-22-2016 09:48 AM

So when will Lexus just go ahead and rename themselves to Gundam Wing and cut the bullsh!t? It's abundantly clear to me that all of the former animators of that show are working for their design team.

I would buy the **** out of a Gundam Wing LC550 F on principle of the name.

Meanwhile at Nissan, it appears they hired all of the reject animators from Looney Tunes and assigned them to the Maxima. Fiat are disappoint.

I would think the LC500 is probably going to be close to $100k and the Q60 won't touch it in performance. The LC will have a power advantage, a transmission advantage and likely weigh less. Not to mention the current IS platform handles a ton better than the current Q50 platform.

Im of the opinion LEXUS, despite its prowess at engineering, has never been a #'s phenom. Id wager this wont be all that much quicker (if at all) than the new Q Turbo from a dig to say 100. Look at the LFA, its a engineering MARVEL with REALLY pedestrian performance numbers for the class of car. Just like EVERY car theyve EVER built. Its the MAZDA of the Luxury world.

Put both cars on a track and I'll put my money on the LC.

At $380,000 the price is laughable for what it is...

The F12 would so get my money... No question!

For a carbon fiber body the price is cheap compared to others. Not to mention the rest of the tech advances in it.

Oh and then you have the most glorious exhaust note created by man to date.

Fixed :tiphat:

I agree with jwick. You get a lot more in the LFA than your average Lambo or Ferrrari.

Yup and if we are just talking straight line acceleration, my boosted VQ makes your entry level Lambo and Ferrari look like bad investments too but I wouldn't say my G is better than either.

UNKNOWN_370 01-22-2016 05:10 PM

Sorry bros... Not drinking the Lexus Kool aid. All that tech couldn't make it out propel a GT-R. An F12 looks better in and out. Everything being carbon fiber is irrelevant at that price range.

The sound is awesome... That's the only thing I can really give them props for

Boosted G's? Lmfaoooooo!!! What if you quad turboed an f12?:gtfo:

Mods are irrelevant

You and your crack pipe. Good luck keeping that F12 on the road with Italian reliability. The Lexus will last forever.

GT-R :sakes head: the fastest file car ever made.

You the only one suckin' on the glass dyck Poppin shyt cuz I'm an individual with my own taste and view point. Don't like it? Eat it... N you gotta be kidding me talking reliability at that price point? Really? :roflpuke2:

I'm not buying a Ferrari... It's unreliable! What? :ughdance: A person that usually buys a Ferrari can own a few... It breaks down? Send it to the shop. Rock the Porsche for 2 weeks... That's it.

Ferrari reliability... How wack of a rebuttal was that? LMFAO...:shakes head:

Glass dyck = your little stupid quote about crack pipe.

Poppin **** = the nonsense you're speaking of. Your points are trivial, borders invalidity and is your personal opinion.

If you don't understand the rest of it? Go back to school. if you couldn't figure out conservative Ebonics? Get a social life.

I never said I didn't understand. I told you to use English because you sound like an idiot. Keeps using your 'ebonics' to make yourself sound hard on the internet.

And oh yeah, highly educated one, all your points are your opinion too ;)

Firebase99 01-23-2016 04:50 PM

Gentlemen....lets keep this civil. Everyone is entitled their own wrong opinions. Lol. It's a forum not TMZ. Anyway, I'd take an F12 right beside my Turbo S over an LFA or Lc500. Nice but Lexus real performance #'s never quite live up to the platform.

JC-Nismo 01-23-2016 06:52 PM

Trips will lock this down soon enough..................

LFA is overpriced and doesn't outperform anything in it's or beneath it's price range. I can name 10 cars under that price range I'd prefer over it. As far as the epic exhaust that it does have................. iTunes baby, LOL.

Pulling out the crack pipe comment earned you the reply. Talking tough? Thank you. I didn't think conservative Ebonics had a tough tone. Smh.

That's the way I speak in a social environment. You can judge me all you want and state your case with the "sound educated" card. I've seen it a million times when a point is proven moot. The old... "I don't have a rebuttal so I'll attack his grammar" routine.

You're right, it is my opinion. So no need for the crack pipe comment. Funny how when I gave you back what you gave me. I'm suddenly the tough acting non respective of your opinion one... lol... But I digress.

The LC500 nice car... It's growing on me. But I don't think of it as a purchase for me.

LFA. Ehhhh. I don't like it much...

Any Ferrari is my dream car don't like most other exotics.

BLUE LOOKS SICK. LF-LC in the works RUMOR. This thing is gonna need a supercharger.

^ehhh I'd take the Toyota FT-1 over that. The Lexus LFA is terribly underrated.

The FT-1 is a fantasy car and won't be built.

UNKNOWN_370 02-04-2016 08:14 AM

Sorry bruh. But it's true... Toyota originally had no intention of making it. But it was so popular, they considered figuring out how to produce it...

Now they said again ... They are not making it but will inspire the next Supra. Toyota can't make sports cars anymore affordably. They lost it in 98. Unless you want FWD sports or pay out the *** for the LFA lab experiment. They ain't producing shyt.

This LC500 Lexus is the best hope. N they charging 100k starting... If it's 3,800lbs or more? It won't be worth it.

N I'm sorry but... $380,000 for a so called exotic Toyota is just not cutting it. If the LFA was $220,000 I'd say... Wow. Kool. But the LFA build quality lacks way behind the Italians. People can make the case for carbon fiber. But all that CF didn't make it faster than cars 3x less expensive. So that's why I call the car a lab experiment. Aka nice try car. Not worth the money.

madeinjapan 02-05-2016 07:11 AM

mini lfa

triso07 02-08-2016 10:22 AM

The side profile is very interesting, but this cars weighs a ton and doesn't have the power or transmission to be competitive anywhere in terms of performance.

BlackZeda 02-23-2016 01:33 PM

The most exciting aspect of the LC 500 is that it may well be the platform that is shared by the eventual FT-1/Supra.

UNKNOWN_370 02-24-2016 06:03 AM

It looks like Lexus is putting out a lot of good looking luxury sport coupes that are way to bloated to take seriously as performance cars. Basically, they're turning into a pre 2012 Mercedes-Benz.

UNKNOWN_370 02-24-2017 01:12 PM

Interesting review.... He said a word I love to hear. FEEDBACK. I might have to write that Supra in? We'll see?!!!
