Some people may want that. The ones that do can just do the same thing they've been doing and buy the Fairlady emblem.

With this engine the Z car is relavent again! Take some sales from the Chavy and the blue oval. Nissan just needs to nail the redesign. Even at 3200 would be wonderful!!

Well, I've been contemplating cars for a year. I've thought about the pros and cons of going 6 figures. Have read insurmountable reviews of cars etc... I feel the car that fits my personality and my preferred driving dynamics most is the MB AMG GTS... But configuring the car to my taste reached a whopping $159,600 before ttl. I can't go that high. I believe the Z in my mental theory would be the next best car... If the Z disappoints somehow? I've come to the conclusion that there's only one logical replacement. The best compromise between price, performance & style would be the Jaguar F Type... My only gripe is the electric steering in 2016 and it can go on a 200lb diet for the price.
I know the corvette would be faster, but I believe between the two, the jag probably had the better steering feel and the best quality for the money. I am not concerned with being the fastest guy on the block. And I think Jag n aftermarket KW may actually make a great team coupled with the optional carbon ceramics to reduce unsprung weight.

The test drives will tell the truth but. This is my theory from extensive research and reviews. I'm enamoured with the Camaro, but feel 188" for my driving style is too much mass.

Hoping the Z is everything I hope it to be so I can save a ton. I really want my next car to feel really special.

I test drove a couple of 2015 F types and they are fun cars. When it came down to the V8 awd or the GT-R I had to stick with Nissan.

I'll just put this out there - a major platform/chassis revision for the Z could be looming to make the following work for its lineup -

The 300hp version would be the base configuration. The Nismo would get the 400hp.

300hp on a platform that cuts a bit of weight from the 370 could make for a base model that performs right along with the current Nismo (the TORQUE EVERYWHERE is my reasoning). The Nismo version with an additional 100hp would be enough to command the pricing premium - I think most everyone bitched about the Nismo only being another 18hp.

For another 10k with all a proper set of forged wheels, giant brakes that don't overheat, a helical limited slip differential, trick rev-matching transmission, and another 100hp on a boosted platform? Where do I sign?

I really hope they don't do that. I agree the small HP bump was :bs: for the extra money they charged for the nismo. however I really would hate to pay the money for the car but it have a god awful body kit like the 09-14 nismo. the 2015 I love the front the rest is ok.

go back to the option setup of the first few years. the new option setups Nissan has in place really makes me think they go grab handicapped monkeys and have them pick how it all goes together.

although if it's still all fuckin whacky for the next model I really hope the nismo tech 7at is an option because I will go with that rather than not being able to have a nice interior and all the performance goodies too.

Personally I see nothing wrong with a 2 liter turbo 300/300 at 3k pounds at $30k. Put some tech in there, etc at $36k. NISMO gets the 3 liter 400/350 turbo at $39k, etc. Add a few things you're playing in performance/price with ford and Chevy at $42k. It'll be as quick but more intimate as a 2 seat fighter jet.

The infiniti Q30 has been paired with a DCT. I know that's just a 4 banger. But it gives me hope that we may see a transmission shift with the Z. As the equivalent GLA 45 carries a standard 7 speed automatic transmission and we have DCT though we share engines The DCT is in the AMG version which shows that Nissan is still looking to have its own technological identity.

just think we are about 13 days away from finding out all the info when the Detroit auto show begins.

well info on the infiniti side for the q50/60 and this engine. knowing Nissan the Z wont be spoken of until the month before launch.

Yup... Spy photo late June. Track testing news for 2 months... See the full car in September. Trace amounts being sold from October to February. Volume sales in March.

Typical Nissan.

The Q60 better give the Jaguar F-Type S a run for it's money when it comes to exhaust sound. It's all about exhaust noises. That's whose getting my money. Cuz all these cars perform well.

I know the solution... I want Nissan to get it right the way CHEVY did. People can **** on Camaro all day. But they addressed EVERYTHING the clientele wanted to see out of the Camaro.
A real corvette engine
A lower COG
A real sports car feel with muscle car sound
A sports car seating position
21st century technology.
Modern cabin.
Lower ride height
LIGHTER
WIDER
BETTER BRAKING OPTIONS
MORE CUSTOMIZABILITY
