stock VS stock the Z is the faster car. (20 more HP) and a bit lighter.

what i did say is that the Gen Coupe has better breaks (brembos VS Nissan breaks) and a stiffer more track tuned suspension. that could come into play on a heavy breaking track.

How can I be wrong when your openly admitting you made a dumb comment?

Ok, so your saying that only in the extremely specific scenario of the special edition Genesis vs a stock Z on a track that is built for heavy braking the Genesis would win?

Honestly if that's the only way it can win, where do you derive that it is a 'better car' based on a highly specified test bed? Shouldn't the 'Best Car' idea go to the vehicle which wins in the most categories accessible to that class of car?

HP?
Torque?
Lap Time?
Strip Time?
0-60?
60-0?
Curb Weight?
Turning Radius?
etc. etc.

I mean if a car gets more X's than the other... its a pretty unanimous decision right?

Just a note: Nissan brakes are by Akebono. Also used by the McLaren F1 team.

Gen Coupe has better brakes or not? Not judging.

Side note: it's brake not breaks.

no, not "special edition genesis". my genesis, the 3.8 Track Model. the top of the line stock model.

the 3.8 track model has better breaks and better track suspension. so yes, if the track was more geared for that type of car it would have a good chance of beating the 370.

be honest. dont you wish the 370 came with brembos over "nissan" breaks. lol

no

yea and look at what happened to Lewis Hamilton Car the last race of the season. BRAKE FAILURE. :icon18:

most of the racing world uses brembo for a reason.

i never was a good speller. :(

Doesn't exactly sound the same, because if it has Brembo's most 'stock' cars don't come with outside company brakes unless they are in the 6 figure price range, so I would call that a special edition. That would be saying the NISMO vs a Stock Z. Or do you call NISMO Stock?

What brand was he using, do you know? And specifically was was the failure?

YamahaR6 11-04-2009 11:23 AM

Doubt he knows about Akebono brakes; probably just found out 2 minutes ago. That's why he keeps calling it "Nissan Breaks".

Porsche also has "Porsche Breaks". You know?

shumby 11-04-2009 11:27 AM

the track model of the genesis coupe comes with brembo brakes. not sure what you are trying to say. just go look at the hyundai website. the 3.8 track model for $31,500 comes with brembos standard.

as for lewis hamilton. he was using akebono according to what YamahaR6 said. he had to retire from the race for the left right rear brake problem.

to be fare though it was the first mechanical failure he ever had that led to a retirement of the race.

the fact that i have never heard of them or seen them and i am a huge Rally and F1 fan and general super car lover says a lot. tell you what i have seen and heard of. BREMBO. lol

I'm trying to say that Brembo is a specialized Brake company, so not every car is going to have them. Therefore they are not 'stock'. So to say your coupe vs a Stock Z and even then only in a highly turn based track the coupe might beat the Z is a highly specified situation and shouldn't be used to base the fact Coupe > Z.

So a singular incident for the first time of that magnitude is enough to disavow Akebono as a good competition quality brake? Have you looked into the Braking Section to read about Akebono's and Track Quality?

shumby 11-04-2009 11:35 AM

need title change

brembo vs. "nissan brake"
