Well, rumors and my prediction was true the RX-9 will be in full production in 2017! I hope Mazda kinked out all the problems with the new 16x twin rotor with 2 stage turbo system, one turbo will be hybrid electric and will produce 450hp according to Mazda. But might be out of my price range considering Mazda is aiming at pinnacle of all sports...the 911.

pretty exciting. 2017 isn't far away. Can't wait to see the actual production model.

are they talking about just the rotary engine or the car as a whole in 2017?

Usually, the car & engine is considered as a whole automobile. So yes, I would think it will be a whole new RX9 rotary sports car:rolleyes:

Not rocket science lol :rofl2: Mazda however, are rocket scientist the Tony Starks(Ironman) of the automotive industry because of their relentless pursuit in perfecting an amazing little rotary engine:driving:

Love the styling in this rendition. Although the RX-Vision concept is way better.

Ugh. At 8 Million yen, that's $80k+ in US currency. That puts it up there with the Cayman & 911 in cost. No thanks. If I'm gonna spend that kind of $$, I'm going with the Cayman. :stirthepot:

Great find, but for 80k I also would get a caymen S instead. Mazda has to price this little below 50k and it will sell like hotcakes.

$80k

It'll probably compete with the NSX for half the money... On my side, I'll reserve my opinion for when I see it and it's specs are concrete.
