It's a beautiful thang I tell you. Way to raise the bar. Very impressive!

That looks great Myotor. Also, from owning an auto and a manual now. I would have to say I believe Myotor would have you guys in the Quarter. The 7at is no slouch.

Looking good Kevin, lub the new rims ! Are you going 20mm all around ? Looks like the rear could easily go 25mm and make it flush if not a little aggressive. Size tires you went ?

Hey Curtis,
Thanks! 20mm in the rear only- was rubbing a little in the front on the old setup. The new one is 2mm less than stocks and spacers. Stock tire sizes, but I want to move to a 265/35/19 for the front, since I went with 9.5" wide rims...

ZForce 07-22-2014 04:39 PM

Hey Kevin, wow...rubbing in the front tire with stock rays and 20mm... I had heard some people rubbing with 20mm. Mine has never rubbed. 9.5 rims...how is the turning with wider wheel...heavier ?

Curtis,
Yep with the factory Bridgestone RE050s- they seem to be wider than other tires of the same size- I think it's the rim saver that sticks out. I didn't rub til I put those on the front. 1st's car has some Nankangs with the same stock/spacer setup and it doesn't rub. Steering feels the same, but I noticed that it tends to track a little better now- maybe from spreading the sidewalls with the wider rim. Lovin' 'em!!! : ) You're next!!!

Some interesting info that could pertain to this: Kyle recently showed me a chart that shows that the actual tread width of the Potenza S-04 275/35 tire is a full inch narrower than that of the Michelin PSS of the same size. So its a half inch closer to the fenders/liners in the rear and just slightly less in the front.

If you do the math the tire contact patch of the 275/35 S-04 is the same size as the tire contact patch of a theoretical 250/35 Michelin PSS.

We should do a bit of tire swapping next time we are at the airfield, I'd be real interested in feeling the different grip levels.

@CBTech - Set up a run for labor day weekend. Otherwise, I'll just duplicate the last run and set it up for you...

BTW - Labor day is the 1st, so were talking next weekend...
