I'm in! I would suggest the route to be

Start: San Mateo/Foster City
Through highway 92 -> skyline 35
Mid Point: Alices for a pit stop
End Point: Pescadero Beach Area (not the actual parking lot because its not low car friendly, but a side parking area that I always go to)

HA, you better be going, this is your cruise suggestion, haha.

Thanks, for the updated info. Edited the post to reflect it. Just gotta find a meet up spot in SM/FC area off 92.

yaoxiao4 11-16-2018 05:16 PM

This is a pretty good meet up spot, either this or the mcdonal trader joes parking lot in san mateo near 101/92

Bay Area Z 11-17-2018 09:14 PM

I'm in. That makes 3.

Alice's is a great drive. It's very busy on weekends, so I suggest a plan B, such as:

Old Port Lobster Shack

OR

Alpine Inn Bear Garden

Those alternatives are close by and the wait times, parking spaces, and food will be better (in my opinion) - whatever you guys want.

yaoxiao4 11-19-2018 02:33 AM

I have a few Z friends that have said yes/probably as well
thanks for the suggestions Bay_Area_Z!

another option since we could be driving towards highway 1, is the highway1 brewing company, mediocre food but on the way/parking spot and next to the scenic pch

xoxOnaisa 11-19-2018 09:07 PM

Depends on the time I suppose. Either of those other options other than Alice’s open at 11/1130am vs Alice’s at 8am.

yaoxiao4 11-20-2018 10:07 PM

tentative plan

1. meet 9:30 at https://www.google.com/maps/place/Up...4d-122.3680699
2. cruise 35 to Alice's (people from south bay can meet us here at around 9:45-10am, I doubt we'll find a lot of parking there)
3. after meeting up with everyone cruse down 84 towards highway 1, then turn on to pescadero, and take pescadero down to highway 1. park at the parking lot beside pescadero beach (low car friendly) and chat/hangout for a bit.
4. cruise down highway 1 to highway 1 brewing company and hang out /eat there
5. disperse?

Casher1212 11-20-2018 10:38 PM

As this progresses, i'll edit this first post with future cruise information etc. and other stuff to make it smoother...

The first cruise a few of us have planned is (suggestions welcome):

Skyline Blvd aka SR-35
Date: December 1, 2018
Time: 9:30 (other suggestions are welcome, someone stated they like doing this drive at 9/10am, so I rolled with it.)

Upper Crystal Spring Reservoir Vista Point
4355 Skyline Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94062

Note: East Bay Folks if you want to meet at the Lucky's off of 880/92 at 9am, we can mob on the bridge together. I'll be coming via 880/92. LMK so I know how many to be meeting here.

Pit Stop:
Alice's Restraunt
17288 Skyline Blvd,
Woodside, CA 94062

End Cruise:
Pescadero State Beach Area, Parking spot Yao knows
Eat at Highway 1 Brewery
Disperse whenever...

I'm going either way. I invited a friend so we'll do some tandem drifts if nobody else shows :)

Will you have the tires in time?

I hope so. Going to call Vex Motorsports in SJ Monday to see if they can get it done. Or Mission Tires in Hayward.

Ya’ll got any other recommendations, it’s my second time buying a set+alignment for this car. I used Vex the first time.

I have a set of Hankook V12s. I like them. Others have commented about them.

Here's the official flyer for the cruise if it works for you:

Costco is a good choice, but usually busy. Wheelworks will match any price and guarantee it 30 days after you buy it.

If you buy direct from Nissan, this is what they include with the tires: Mounting, Balancing, Installation, Disposal Fees, Road Hazard Coverage.

Getting two rear V12s + alignment from Nissan will cost $660.88

I looked into costco but they don’t carry hankooks, and I’d have to bug my parents to take me, as I bum off their membership lol, and it’s too short notice for that. . Nissan is a lot more expensive than the other spots so I was avoiding them. I had gotten all four & allignment for $950 at vex. I’ll check wheelworks again, I forgot why I didn’t go to them last time.

Thanks for all the tips and the quote.

$950 out the door? What tires?

Hankook Ventus v12. I’ll double check when I get home, but Vex just confirmed that on the phone as well. Yes, out the door, I believe it may have been in cash too, that’s likely why.

Just contacted mission tires in Hayward since Vex is backed up until next Monday, and a guy named JJ, just quoted me $408 for the two rear tires, just under $500 with alignment (did not say if that was cash price) Vex quoted me $550 cash. (Prices as of today).

xoxOnaisa 11-26-2018 06:29 PM

Awe. He misquoted, wrong size... 245/35/19. It’s $542, bummed but no complaints. still the cheapest I’ve found...

yaoxiao4 11-26-2018 08:46 PM

so who do we have confirmed here? i have about 3-4 friends coming outside of this forum

xoxOnaisa 11-27-2018 12:19 AM

I’m mobbing solo. My estimated guess now is 7-10... but you never know.... super curious to see how this turns out.

yaoxiao4 11-28-2018 11:23 AM

looks like a bit of rain, careful everyone :)

The situation has changed. Those that were interested on my end aren't going if it rains.

Between you two and Casher, that's 4. The X FACTOR will be if it rains or not. Most people may decide based on that.

Is it possible to move the cruise to Sunday (Dec 2)? Forcast should be dry. I think turnout will be better and enjoyment will be greater.

darn, wish i saw this sooner. I bought tickets to a Crab Fest for Sunday at 2pm (with bottomless beer & mimosa's in Oakland, if ya'll wanna come to that on the second haha).

I'll meet up, but won't do the cruise, if you guys really want to change the date.

Majority vote decides?

I attached the forecast of the weekend for the area we would be cruising.

Crab Fest sounds interesting. Does it cost $75? This is the link I found.

Yes, I've looked at the forecast....So majority votes...

and yes that is the Crab Fest...its $81 after the fees etc.

yaoxiao4 11-29-2018 07:21 PM

a couple of my friends prefer sunday as well but said they will go to either since they dont mind that much

Bay Area Z 11-30-2018 11:10 AM

xoxOnaisa, do you have time Sunday morning (before the crab fest) to meet up? We could all meet up at 9am and split at 1pm? That gives us 4 hours.

yaoxiao4 can do either Sat or Sun.

Casher?

I can do Sat or Sun but prefer Sunday. I'd like the windows down so I hear the symphony of exhausts.

I think that's it as far as forum members go, 4 of us.

yaoxiao4 11-30-2018 01:03 PM

should we do Sunday then? we can just meet up earlier if anything

I'd have to be back in the East Bay by noon. I also have (now)tentative Saturday night plans (person got sick) that will more than likely hinder waking up early on Sunday.

I understand Sunday is definitely the better option due to weather, and I don't mind sitting this one out. I just have a set weekend schedule.

If you can manage it, Sunday makes more sense. Same plan.

I think Casher and you live near me (San Leandro)? Maybe we can meet somewhere so we can cross the bridge at the same time. If that works for you, send me an address to meet you.

yaoxiao4 11-30-2018 01:50 PM

will pm you
