UpRev tuner in the greater Seattle area?

Hi there,

Fellow member here from Vancouver Canada, looking for an uprev tuner close by.

Anywhere you can suggest in the greater Seattle area?

Thanks,

yeah there are a lot of "authorized dealers", but I wanted to see if anyone had good experience with any shops in particular, or if a shop is very experienced in tuning the 370z's.

Anyone can buy the program and be an authorized dealer, but not many will shine through to be "the one people go to". And that's what I'm actually asking.

Thanks for your help tho!

Nitrouz,

Check out this thread:
http://www.the370z.com/north-west-re...-bodywork.html

Or, try asking the Seattle guys here:
http://www.the370z.com/north-west-re...ttle-area.html

I've heard good things about Intec Racing.

Titan1080 01-31-2011 01:55 AM

I had Lawrence at Intec tune my Titan, he did an awesome job! I'll be taking my Z there when the time comes for an Osiris tune, I've had very good service from all those guys.

Nikon FM 01-31-2011 06:36 PM

Kito!

Kito is a great tuner who knows his stuff. I had my 370 6mt tuned there and he did an amazing job for about $400 cheaper than the guy down South. Highly recommend Kito for 370 tunes:tup:

Check him out on facebook

How much did u pay for the uprev tune???

Titan1080 02-19-2011 03:12 AM

I paid $650, at the time Intec was having a dyno day and were running tuning specials, the catch being they were out of Cipher cables that are bundled with the tuner package so I had to spring for one later when they were back in stock. That was also back in the day before Uprev lowered their prices. Intec's website says $750 for a flash and up to two hours on the dyno. Give them a call and see what they've got going on.

Nikon FM 02-20-2011 11:14 AM

$600 from Kito Auto Sports

Spec Jay 02-23-2011 03:42 AM

Intec, ive been chatting with them. sem to know their stuf

seymore4 02-23-2011 03:49 AM

I remember a guy from last December who had an appointment, called to verify the day prior, then made the 5 HOUR drive down to Kito to get his Osiris tune. They dicked him around for a couple hours then were in the end unable to do it??? Last I remember he went to Intec and they even stayed late to finish his tune. That's customer service IMO

Spec Jay 02-23-2011 04:17 AM

yup was just discussing that with the guys at intec. it was djpathfinder.

What kind of gains did you get and is it noticeable? I need a tune.

Nikon FM 02-24-2011 10:35 AM

I got +18 torque and +18HP from the tune, plus Kito adjusted my low end torque to be higher. After the tune I noticed a smoother power transition …..very nice!

jpit 02-25-2011 01:53 PM

I had my 370Z done by Lawrence at Indec Racing and was very impressed. He put in five different maps controlled by the cruise control buttons. They have to dyno in fourth gear because their dyno can't handle the speed in fifth.

I couldn't believe the difference after my first Osiris tune as well, the way the car responds is just amazing! Nissan would've sold a million of them if they came like this from the factory :icon17:

azn370z 02-25-2011 04:55 PM

Maybe you guys can elaborate why intec's service was so good. And the difference the tune made to your z.

Wow, that wasn't my experience. It is kind of weird to hear about something fairly opposite? I didn't go South because someone on here complained about how their performance was screwed (but they had an AT). I guess good and bad at both places then…..

Anyway I really do like my tune

seymore4 02-25-2011 08:46 PM

I actually ran into the guy at the Chevron after he got tuned, can't remember his name but he said he showed up at Intec and they stayed late to get his tune done and not just rush through it, even though he didn't have an appointment. He had to get a hotel in town and drive back the next morning but seemed stoked to be able to get tuned :p

I've never been to Kito so I can't speak either way for their tuning, but from what friends tell me and their website they seem to specialize in Subarus... A little different to tune than Nissans. When I had questions about tuning my G35 back in the day Lawrence was more than helpful, even brought out his laptop and showed me the fuel maps and whatnot and explained how the tune makes a difference.

Nissan really upgraded the motors for the 370's, so you won't see massive top end gains like the old VQ35DE motors, but you'll gain a lot of responsiveness and smoothness throughout the powerband. No more hickups or jerkyness, just strong pulling all the way to redline. And better gas mileage as a benefit :D

Jordan 04-20-2011 07:45 PM

Just got my tune done by Lawrence at Intec. He knows what he's talking about and was really helpful. Don't go expecting huge gains, especially when stock. Very small peak gains (4-5 hp) but a better feel across the band. Definitely noticed a difference passing on the highway. I'll put up the graphs once they send them and post any differences I see in gas mileage. It will be cheap and easy to tune after any future mods since most of the investment is for the license and establishing the baseline.

Hambone1 04-20-2011 09:10 PM

Was that you on your way to get the tune this morning?

Spec Jay 04-20-2011 09:21 PM

holy crap too many blues!

Hambone1 04-20-2011 09:36 PM

I know man. Someone rolled past me this morning in a MB, by the time I realized it was a "hello" honk, he had already gone by. I think it was Jordan though

Jordan 04-20-2011 10:42 PM

Yup, that was me on the way to the tune. :)

I'm just up the hill. I saw a MB going the other direction a while ago. Good to see more showing up in the area

Hambone1 04-21-2011 12:10 AM

Right on man, car looked sharp. Mine is so dirty, I haven't had time to wash it. Nikon where did you see the MB? I saw one that looks like yours in your avatar maybe two weeks ago

Hambone1 04-21-2011 12:21 AM

Sorry if this is a total noob/retard question, are there any eastside meets coming up soon? The NW thread has been kind of dead lately, and I only just started posting recently. It would be cool to get something together

Nikon FM 04-21-2011 12:43 AM

Yeah about two weeks ago sounds right. I think I saw the (or yours) MB near Issaquah. Mine is the only black running the CF Seibon hood at least in WA State that I'm aware of.

We have been fairly inactive due to weather, but we do get together quite a bit when the sun is out. Hopefully soon

tjlazer 04-21-2011 01:46 AM

Another MB Z! Atleast mine now looks different. lol

I need to get that Uprev tune soon...

Hambone1 04-21-2011 08:09 AM

That was probably me. I live in Bellevue and head over to Issaquah/Sammamish a lot. That will be cool, let me know when something is getting planned

KusoSama 04-21-2011 10:10 PM

Was great meeting you Jordan. Can't wait to get my tune from Lawrence after I get a new set of rubber and payback a debt. :)

I'm hoping for some good numbers considering the slight modding of already done.

nomnomnomnom

CB1 07-01-2011 10:41 AM

Do you have your before and after charts that you can post?
I'm trying to decide on either Kito or Intec.
I'm also trying to understand the differnces between the Mustang dynos and the Dynajet dynos. From what I understand, Kito uses a Mustang and Intec uses a Dynajet. Are there advantages/disadvantages for either type?
I've got the F.I. TDX 18" exhaust, F.I. HFCs on order and have the HPS tubes and K&N drop ins installed. The tune is the last mod to do and trying to make an informed decision on who I should tune my Z.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Jordan,

Any chance you can post your charts so we can see how your tune came out?

I wouldn't worry about the type of dyno people use to tune. The most important thing is the difference between the before and after tune.

Thanks for the information. That help a lot.
Now I just need to decide wheather to go with Kito or Intec...
If anyone has any advice as to which one might be the better option, let me know. They both seem to be great tuners. Thanks.

Give each of them a call and see who you feel comfortable with doing the work….oh that and price.

Have fun

I've seen Lawrence do this all too often to make sure the tune is done right. I only go to them.

My Uprev tune has been great. We're hoping to look into throttle issues that plague the 370z.

Forgot to say that Lawrence has gotten my tune almost to 300rwhp. :)
