I was contacted 2 weeks ago by a women who was very unhappy with a detail she had got on her white accord. In her words there were spots all over the car and she was worried they wouldn't come out as she had washed it a few time with no luck. After discussing the options she went with a 1 step correction and wolfgang sealant for the upcoming winter months. The car was not in bad condition at all just that the entire car was covered in what I can only describe as either a crappy wax or left polish.

A fellow customer who I did a audio system for contacted me about getting his corvette winterized and cleaned up. We decided to just do the exterior and worry about getting a full 2 stage + interior done in the spring. This was my first time working with corvette clear and even with MF pads as well as an assortment of polishes to work with it was no easy task. I ended up switching between M101 and FG400 in the process, I added a stage 2 correction to the hood as it became very finicky too work with to get a proper correction with a one stage.

Annoying hiss

I recently had a Pioneer X850BT installed in my 2012 370Z Roadster. As soon as I start the engine I hear an annoying hiss from the factory Bose speakers without turning on any audio source. I took it back to the installer who told me there was nothing he could do. He told me there is no preamp which is usually the cause. Any suggestions? Gene

Get your remote start done the proper way. Installed a Compustar CS-800 today in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata today. All wiring was prepped ahead of time and twisted to lose slack.

Sounds like the RCA's are not installed properly or the factory amp is not grounded. There is plenty they could do.

Bump for spring. Looking to do a lot more installs this year. Became authorized to sell certain brands as well.

Amp mount behind seat

I was wondering if i can mount my kenwood amp just behind the seat vertically in that space. Would i be drilling into anything to mount it there? Also amp wire from the battery comes through the fire wall where? I have installed before but not in this tight car. Help please. Thanks.

Are you talking about above the carpet area towards the floor? Running the power wire you simply remove the shroud behind the battery and remove the electrical tape around the black grommet, slide your new power wire through there and it comes out inside at the passengers area

Is it a stock radio?

Plasmite 04-30-2014 10:56 PM

I've got a avic-z140bh and I am trying to clean up the dealers install by removing electrical tape and installing butt connectors. Is it easier to replace the RCA connectors? I am not sure how they are wired up from the pioneer harness.

Look at some pics HERE

Edit: I need THIS harness

Hello
I'm tackling an upgrade to the Bose-No Nav system in my 370z. The one requirement is to keep the stock head unit. I have read a lot on this forum, but have one question.

Equipment:
JBL MS8
Alpine PDX-F4
JL 13TW5 sub w/ magic box
Image Dynamics 6.5" components
Plan is to mount the MS8 under one seat and the amp under the other. Amp will power the sub and the fronts. Ditch the rears (are there even rears?)

Do I need to connect the MS8 before or after the stock amp? Would I lose any stock functionality by doing one or the other? I don't normally like to cut into factory harnesses - is there a better way?

Appreciate any insights!!

With the MS8 You can input high level speaker levels and have it sum them or tap the RCA levels before the amp and run them directly into the RCA inputs of the MS8. Either way will work low inputs would be better. You will have to splice into the harness either way.

Hey Brian! Let me just start by saying thank you for taking the time to answer questions from noobs like me. It's truly great to have someone who likes to help for the sake of helping.

Couple of questions:

I just took ownership of a used Nismo. It came with a Kenwood DDX770 head unit with stock speakers. I'm going to upgrade the speakers with a Hertz HDP4 amp, HSK165XL component speakers, and a 10" JL 10w3v3-4 sub.

I plan on using the amp with the two fronts off channel A, and bridging the outs for the sub. Should net 150w fronts, and 500 rear.

The Kenwood head unit (DDX770) has a sub out (looks like an RCA splitter). The question is should I use that out and go to channel 'B', or let the amp mix the out through the A channel? Like this:

Attachment 92481

The second question is what rear camera should I use with this head unit? It seems that any would work (?) with an RCA out/in?

Thanks again man!

Any tips on installing the zenclosures 6.5" speaker spacer's on top of or in replacement of the Bose 6.9 door plate? Not sure if I should just install with just two holes bolted down or not. There's a lot of extra space in the baffle as well.

I've been trying to find pics or a walkthrough for this, but I've not come up with anything yet. I was looking at Sliknik's video's also, but he has the base model and had 6.5's to begin with. Search comes up with nothing useful I'm afraid. :/

Any tips would be fantastic.

Thanks!

Long time customer of 5 years contacted me for a install on his newest car. In the past we have done active setups, tried new speakers such as the pioneer stage 4's but we decided to get back to basics and go with a high end component pair. He told me he wanted bone shaking bass so we decided to go with a pre build JL box with a W7 anniversary edition as well as upgrade the factory alternator. I recommended a set of K2 Focals for the front and to use his old Audison LRX 2.4k. We decided to go with a perfect fit kit and the Alpine X008U which I have to say is an amazing kit with a simple plug and play installation. Sense we went all out with a good quality set of components it was decided to do second skin luxury liner pro as well as damplifier. Onto the photos.

HU Gap

2 Attachment(s)
Any ideas on what I can do to limit the gap around the HU? It's a Kenwood DPX791BH

It came with two trim pieces, one for Toyota and the standard both to big. It's mounted using the stock bracket and dash pieces.

Use the Schoche dash kit there will be no gap

Have you done a rear fog light install on 370z?

bigaudiofanat 11-23-2015 06:41 PM

Been a while sense I have posted updates. Up first a 370Z that was wrapped, I sealed it with 22ple and did a full detail on it minus the polishing.

Last week I finished up a full system that was probably one of the hardest hitting systems I have done in a Z by far. 2 JL W3's shared 1100 watts of pure power. However with a simple twist of the knob the system could turn into a SQ based system.

Yo Matt... just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help ... car sounds fantastic and that bass really kicks! Can't seem to wipe this smile from my face.:icon17: Everything is nice and hidden except for the subs of course but the Zenclosures make them look like they belong in the car. This simply blows the OEM bose system away and I couldn't be happier. :ughdance:

It's so nice to have the V1 and dash cam hard wired besides the aesthetics of not having wires hanging all over the place but my dash cam is now functional when parked and I'm free to use the stock power again. I like the fact you can control the base with a turn of the knob from a nice punchy base sound to the insane (mess up your hair, massage your back) mode. It's sick. Having the head unit replace my stock HU also allowed me to integrate a GPS and backup camera which is extremely useful...again, no need for a separate GPS hanging on the windshield taking up space.

Finally was able to get out and enjoy the day yesterday and took some pictures of the Z. That detail with polish and sealant really makes the paint shine. Can't wait to meet up with the rest of the guys in NJ here and show them how excellent this all turned out.

Hi Matt,
I have a PPI 900.5 already and it has 275 watts RMS to a 4 ohm subwoofer. I want to go sealed either 10 or 12 in zenenclosure 1.3 cu ft of airspace. Whats driver(s) would you recommend for my situation? I mostly listen to rap and r&b.

bigaudiofanat 06-06-2016 07:41 AM

Just an update guys. Moved to New Castle DE. More photos of installs to come.
