I just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 2 hours from Pittsburg in NE Ohio. I plan on doing doing some track events @ Pittsburg International Raceway next Spring/Summer. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Z owners.

Greg, give you a tip on PittRace. Group 1 and 2. They take the first 25 to sign up. Which runs in the morning. Group 3 is in the afternoon.

LAVA 01-17-2015 10:09 AM

Thx Rusty

I haven't actually done the track days there but I have driven the course just messing around. it's a nice track and it's fun. Rusty has done multiple events there and I believe he has some good gopro footage of it somewhere as well.

sidenote to track stuff, there are multiple meets and whatnot as well. I try to post and keep it current but sometime I do forget lol

welcome and hope to see you when the weather breaks.

I'd like to be there this summer as well.

I'll always be autocrossing my cars, but I want to try out the track cross and get out on the north track to stretch my legs.

Might even take my bike up there if I'm feeling exceptionally brave this summer. :ughdance:

FPenvy 03-12-2015 07:54 AM

Hello all,

weather seems to look like winter may finally be ending :excited:

that means the car season for us people with more than one season is right around the corner.

I did a quick update to the schedule on the first page of this thread. also I will be adding some other events as the info becomes available.

any questions or interests in other events please post it up or PM me.

thank you all and can't wait to see all the Z's back on the road!

Rusty 03-12-2015 08:00 AM

If anyone going to do the 4/18 trackday at PittRace in Group 1 or 2 better hurry up and sign up. Already have 16 people signed up for it. Last year, they only took 25 people.

If you haven't ever had your bike on the track I highly recommend it, You'll learn more about riding in one track day than you will in a year of road riding. I lived in Colorado for 10+ years where they have arguably some of the best roads and riding in the country, They're incredible. After a dozen or so track days on my bike I pretty much stopped riding it on the street. I ended up getting my road race license and pursed one of my life long dreams of racing.

The difference between riding on the street and track is on the street you never go through the same corner twice. On the track you keep going through the same corner over and over again so you can make small changes each

time and actually see and fell the differences, plus the learning curve is a lot quicker. On the track you can learn to trust your bike so much faster, which it turn will make you more comfortable and give you the confidence to ride harder. Being fast on a bike is all about learning, trusting and being one with your machine. Once you trust it and have confidence in your ability and the bikes, it'll do what you want it to and you'll be comfortable doing it.

It's really is the only place you can ride are hard as possible and push your own limits in a safe environment and a track day is cheaper than any ticket you'll get, especially on a bike.

I'm looking forward to tracking my Z but it'll be nothing compared to riding on one.

350Z in Morgantown

Looks like a nice ride for sale in Morgantown. A friend sent me the link knowing I'm a Z fan.

2005 Convertible Nissan 350-Z

I spent the day with the polisher and M105 and M205. I then put a coat of Mothers California Gold Natural Formula Pure Carnauba. It turned out looking great.

Rusty 03-15-2015 10:07 PM

Seen that 350 in the auto trader last night.

You want to polish mine up?

FPenvy 03-16-2015 01:55 PM

took the Z out today to celebrate my bday and the Z hitting 40k miles on it's first taste of spring pavement.

i missed that car so much over the winter.

hope to see you all out some events soon.

ZeeZee 03-16-2015 01:57 PM

FP, it seems quite a few peeps are up in arms over the latest Facebook posts from C and C about the new rules/regs this year. Have you reviewed them? Sounds like you have to be a current member to attend? Is this true? That will be a deterrent for the casual fan to stop by and check out the cars. A real shame if it goes down that way.

I haven't reviewed them yet. I will go check it out now and get back to you all.

Sidenote: coming home through wexford the other day I had 3 370z's with me. A bc one I've seen before but there was a black sport package and a bc sport package I haven't seen yet. May have new friends around.

FPenvy 04-08-2015 11:30 PM

Ok so I reviewed the rules post and most of the replies. Here's my take on it:

The event is not "private" by any means. I feel cliff is just saying if you don't have a sports car then don't come. I get it in some aspects but some I don't fully agree with. I get it the space is limited and he's right that there have been instances where a few people acted outside the general rules that keep the events going. We have moved 3 times in 2 years based on people not wanting us around so it's nice to have a home for the time being.

I don't agree with it in the sense that I know some people come in normal cars with their kids to see cars most never knew where so close to home. I think that's awesome being that my father did that with me as a child and instilled the deep car loving roots I have today. It's what drives the car culture really. So I hope that isn't an issue but also it is very hard to enforce based on it being a public shopping center with businesses who love having customers flocking every other Saturday.

All in all I get why cliff said it and I feel most people who are mad took it the wrong way. That or they don't understand his meaning and reasoning behind it.

Rusty 04-10-2015 08:59 PM

Signed up for trackday at PittRace on 4/18. Group 2 Solo. Looks like Group 1 and 2 might be sold out. Group 2 Solo and Group 3 is close to it.

So....I had a little car trouble the other day. Z went into limp mode on the highway. CEL light came on. Could not restart for several tries...

Took it into PRL motorsports. Found issues with throttle body and a coolant leak...so sad.

By the way. For those looking for good techs for the z..Prl guys have been so far excellent.

ZeeZee 05-08-2015 10:01 PM

Sorry to hear of your troubles, hopefully you are all good for the weekend now though!

Where is PRL? I might have to check them out in the future...

For those who are looking for z tuner/tech around burgh...I have some feedback on PRL MOTORSPORTS just east of monroeville...

These guys are BADASS... I had throttle body issues and bad tune after stillen sc install. Also had coolent leak issues Took it to them to work the kinks..

1. Service- Denis is DA man. He will keep you updated almost daily. Contacted stillen , UpRev and vortech himself to work out the kinks. Can't say enough
2. Install - had them install new CBE exhaust while at it. Flawless.
3. Dyno tune- car runs so much better. 423 whp much more than I expected..

If you are looking for a reliable guys around burgh. I highly recommend them..I have been looking for two years for a Nissan shop..I am glad I found one. ( they were working on 1000whp gtr when I was there)

ZeeZee 05-15-2015 08:44 PM

Sounds fantastic! I'm struggling 2 find a shop 2 install some new tires! Lol

I'll definitely hit them up for any tuning needs in the future. Thanks for the feedback and hope to see you out at Cars and Coffee sometime soon!

BTW. Anyone interested, I have a nismo CBE that I just took off that I am trying to unload. Only 13k miles on it. Best offer...just trying to clear the garage

Redman24 02-13-2016 08:05 AM

Hey all,
New to the area. I'm currently in Cranberry, but may be moving close to downtown Pittsburgh soon. I'm a daily Z driver that occasionally tracks. Anyone interested in a Z/G meetup sometime in March? I am a member of the HoustonZ's, and may be making some PittsburghZ's stickers as well.
I have seen a couple Zs in town, but not many.
