My 370Z Left On Blocks!

Hi guys I've been on the forums for a while now and I am very sad/annoyed/frustrated/pissed/crazy right now. I don't know who the hell had the nerves to do such a thing or even why... There has been a group of people hitting up shops and other cars on the streets and they just steal parts. Mostly parts for a Nissan! And guess who was lucky to be chosen by these scumbags?! You got it!

Attention all my New York, New Jersey, Conneticut and Pennsylvania members please be on the look out for anyone selling them. The right sides were curbed due to driving events and just bad roads in new york. I believe the only side that was perfect was the left rear rim. They stole my rims and tires probably around 4-5am today.. The tires I had were brand new! I didn't even get to test them out! They were 255/35/19 fronts and 295/30/19 rears. Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's. Let me know if you guys see something shady online or on the streets!

Paladinjc 08-03-2011 01:35 PM

Sorry man! did you have wheel locks?

CrownR426 08-03-2011 01:41 PM

^No I never thought I needed them.
But I guess my area is becoming the new Newark!

Paladinjc 08-03-2011 01:45 PM

I doubt that, there is only one Newark.:shakes head:

Still sorry man.

Nick911sc 08-03-2011 02:02 PM

toxik 08-03-2011 02:35 PM

I'm sure the wheel jackers did that! ;)

CrownR426 08-03-2011 03:11 PM

^ No a drunk teen hit me couple days ago. Couldn't park.

CrownR426 08-03-2011 03:16 PM

Unfortunately they gave me money for remanufactured rims saying that my Z is already 2 years old.

Year of car should not matter.
Only time I would agree in taking 'remanufactured' rims is if the car is out of production and the wheels are no longer available from the OEM supplier. Fight for full replacement wheels, no cheap repaired wheels.

Cmike2780 08-03-2011 03:31 PM

This sucks dude. Sorry to hear that. Even with insurance, you probably end up loosing money because of these scumbags. You could always put the money towards aftermarket wheels at least. How much did the insurance give you?

Was anything else damaged?

3.7Z 08-03-2011 03:34 PM

dayymnn... hope everything works out with insurance man... time for new shoes! :)
you should tell them they messed up the door ding too! 거짓말해..

CrownR426 08-03-2011 03:36 PM

Idk but I just called them and bitched.
I better be getting money for my 19's or they started some **** that will get uglier.

Jamaica 08-03-2011 03:50 PM

Damn that sucks. I'm sorry. Glad I had my wheels insured.

daisuke149 08-03-2011 03:51 PM

yeah dude complain
honestly some news stations in your area might like the idea of airing something like that. some local ones sometimes have like consumer news stories etc.

(sounds like you have progressive, they = biggest douches)

but yeah you need 4 wheels, 4 tmps, 4 tires. installed, balanced and the TMPS mated to the car. Side skirts replaced/fixed and repainted. + other damage if any like new lug nuts if any were broken.

I would flat out refuse this, and demand they replace the exact same wheel or give you a cheque for the retail value.

Called them earlier and told them that so I should receive a call tomorrow.
Will update.

lol. do not lie. lying is really really really bad. guh nang cha pah ruh.

tjlazer 08-04-2011 12:01 PM

Damn that sucks. Always get wheel locks! That atleast might deter some of the scum bag loser thieves. If its too much work they will not steal them. Hense the reason they are unemployed. (Last time I checked McD and US Army is still hiring)

I would also demand they pay for the replacement of OEM wheels/tires/TPMS and any damage to side skirts, etc. You should be getting a few G's at the min!

Good luck buddy!

ScGRaceR 08-04-2011 12:07 PM

wow dude im sorry!

leighspped 08-04-2011 12:23 PM

Really sorry it sucks. I just ordered wheels so I'm worried as well. Were you in south orange?

You should call the dealer and see what they would charge you for a new set and sent it to the insurance company.

The only way an insurance company make money is by not paying. Fight 'em

How do people insure there wheels? Stated value or "aftermarket capped" program?

Insurance companies bank of people either not making claims, or like ^^ said, shafting people when they do make claims. My friend rolled his Explorer with me in the back seat, and his insurance didn't want to pay my medical bills because I took an "assumed risk" by riding in an SUV and knowing they're prone to roll overs! Can you believe that? We weren't even offroading.

But yeah, you should be paid for the cost of new wheels, new tires (or at least pro-rated), TPMS, install/calibration of TPMS, mount/balance of tires, body damage... You should not have to spend a penny out of pocket to get your car back on the road (other than your deductible). Once you know how much they're going to give you, let me know if you're interested in some aftermarket wheels. I'm know we can come up with a nice set of wheels at a great price for you.

And I'm going to repeat myself here... An alarm w/ tilt sensor will do a lot more to stop a thief than wheel locks. Do both, and you're not likely to end up having your wheels snatched any time soon.

I agree, but when the insurance company is trying to weasel it's way out of paying the real damage cost.............

I broke my arm in an accident four years ago. I was hit head on while waiting to make a turn... insurance company took a week before they gave me a place to go that they would pay for. Nothing like having a broken arm for a week that no one will treat. **** yeah America.

2011 Nismo#91 08-05-2011 03:55 PM

Nissan rays 370z rims with tires!!!

My co worker found these listed 8/4

Romulus1 08-05-2011 04:13 PM

Its crazy how fast they re appear... Scum of the earth theives. Good luck with everything

shadoquad 08-05-2011 04:22 PM

I bet the cops don't do a thing.

This really sucks.

The 370z sport rims seem to get nicked very often, and it makes sense. They're among the most beautiful stock rims, and stock rims will always have a buyer somewhere.

I hope your insurance doesn't cheap out on you.
