Issues with Test Pipes and the police?

has anyone that is running test pipes had any issues with the police?

i've heard horror stories of cops impounding the car and/or some rediculous fines.

just curious, has anyone in the northeast had troubles with this?

Wtf? Hell no. How can they even know? You can't crawl underneath or see underneath our cars they're too low.

The most you'll get is a citation. That's it.

they can tell from the smell. it is very noticible when stopped. just looking for some peace of mine seeing as i have some Berks on the way

sorry arnold motordyne is too rich for my blood

Dude, you paid $350 for test pipes? You should've just shat out the extra $100+ for the ART Pipes. Anything more expensive than $200 for test pipes is lunacy!

Lunacy I tell you!

fairladyZ34 06-14-2011 03:51 PM

The smell dies down after the pipes get used for a little bit

in NJ they can only give a fix it ticket but since they cant get down there to see what to fix they generally dont...

Also i recommend always turning of the car when you get pulled over...

I drive by both a state police station, the jail and local patrol every day and havent had a problem with tint or the LTH

hope it helps

neither will pass the "sniff" test or an emissions test if that's what you're asking.

$485, trick!

They're also not test pipes. They actually have engineering behind them. :roflpuke2:

$250 isn't bad, though. Hope they're resonated at least.

Truth hurts. :) No one made a hollow tube and bent it. MD actually designed something close to a dozen designs with different bends, resonator designs, glass packs, etc. before finally settling on the best and selling that. That's precisely what engineering is. There was R&D here. Test pipes have virtually no R&D.

I had HFCs. I had test pipes. I had ART Pipes. So coming from someone that owned all three, I can easily say the MD product is simply superior in every possible way, in sound, design, and power. I don't mean to come off like an *** about it or anything, I'm simply saying. It's been dyno proven, as well.

People selling their cars need not apply to this convo.
