My only problem right now is that it sounds like a sewing machine. I’m sure there are 100’s of aftermarket suppliers licking their chops though...

I can just imagine the plethora of goodies which will be available for this revised platform. I'm curious what other parts will remain interchangeable. I'm seriously excited about it's release!

Im not at all excited about this car. There is nothing revolutionary about it. So for forty large itll get its arse handed to it by a Mustang GT and no DCT option. Meh.

And a Vette will smoke them both. I don’t see your point. It also doesn’t have electric steering.

I like it for what it is tbh. The big 3, which are faster, are just far too common in my opinion. Absolutely nothing wrong with owning a Mustang but when you see 1 every 5 feet it takes out the wow factor. I can assure you most people can't tell the difference between a Super snake and your basic v6 lol. I'm glad that there will be other offerings in the sports car world and I think it'll hold it's own. Time will tell.

Well, I for one, am excited to see the production model, especially the Nismo version. I'm anxious to see if the Nismo has a unique front bumper/nose. A further play on the G-Nose (extend the nose maybe 3-4 inches) works for me.

Sure, a Mustang GT may be faster, but I doubt seriously it will handle as well, and there will be no comparison in build quality. A friend recently purchased a GT500 and it's a $30K car with a $60K engine. Interior is rental car crap quality.

Hopefully, 400+hp will equate to 4.0 second 0-60 times with the Nismo being slightly quicker. That's plenty quick for the street and an insane value for sub-$50K.

I think the new Z will be on pair with the GT for the fact that the new Z is way lighter than the gt. The starting price for the base model will be $34k with a markup price of $42k-$50k

If the new Z can stay at high to mid 12s in the 1/4 I will have zero complaints. I just know that it will be an immediate headturner when people see them in the wild.

I wonder if the new Z will have the ecu locked like the newer Supra models due to security breach, lawsuits, etc.. Ive read through their forums that Supra's later than 6/20 have the ecu locked which makes it impossible to tune. I think this is one of the reasons people are trading in their Supra's and you see many of them for sale with 6k-9k miles

Doesn't matter to me if a closely priced Mustang or Camaro or German car can out-accelerate a new Z. All of them need to watch out for a Tesla, which can out-accelerate anything.

The main attraction for a Z is being a reliable 2 seat Japanese sporty car. Same for those who buy Miatas, Mini Coopers, etc. There's always going to be a car "better" or "faster" than the car you like, but you like what you like nonetheless.

A Tesla is not fast. It is what we would call quick. This isn’t exclusive to Tesla either, all electric cars have this ability as they have instant torque delivery. An electric car will destroy almost anything in a 1/8 mile race. It will still be winning almost all the time in a 1/4 mile race. But once you get to 1/2 mile the electric car really starts to lose its lead. Electric cars start really fast but after a short time the power of a traditional engine will beat them. Even a Porsche 911 can beat a Tesla P100D if the race was 1 mile. And once you get to the track, electric cars really don’t have any footing.
