what's the price tag on that going to be??

Asheth 05-06-2015 11:16 AM

I think the engine will be whatever we see in the new Q60 coupe. Nissan/Infiniti said it will be TT around the 400hp mark. I'd bet my money they follow the same path with the Q coming out first and the Z following after with a shared platform. I don't see why they would deviate from that approach. I don't see a problem if the Z is tuned for more power than the Q60 coupe, but the Q60 can be tuned to the same output or greater there is still the weight and suspension that will separate them.

I would assume close to the current ZL1 being 55k starting.

chevy didn't really bump the pricing on the new vette vs the old that much.

I mean the new vette starts at 55k which is about the same or maybe even less than the 2013? I cant remember off the top of my head.

55k for a 800+hp car isn't bad at all... although the new z06 is close to 100k now with all the bells and whistles

it wont be 800hp lol but I guess through the testing the engine is quite capable of monster numbers.

the only way I can see it having 800hp is if chevy wants to throw a competitor at the hellcat. otherwise I don't see them going to crazy with the Z06 being at 650/650 hp/tq.

maybe I could see it being 600hp area. the old ZL1 is 580 I believe so 600 would be more than previous and less than the z06.

then again the ZL1 had more than the previous Z06 soooo who knows.

ehh yes and no. I mean yea the whole rumor thing and whats real and whats not game is fun but it does suck when something great is rumored....then is a complete farce.

I kinda like Nissan being tight lipped with anything on the Z. little mystery is fun.

next week the 6th gen Camaro info is dropped by chevy so I'm excited to see whats true and whats not from all the speculation.

but i'll be at zdayz soooo I wont know until the drive home sunday the 17th.

i feel that by the time the Z comes out (2017?) with the rumored 400hp it won't be enough to hang with the competition.

Least chevrolet knows how to tease us

I'll be nice to see some kind of initial concept just to throw something at the public and keep them (us) interested.

Right now the Z is in a unique spot, though: well above the Miata & FRS/BRZ though below Vettes (where GTR challenges at least the higher end models). It's a sweet spot they're almost alone in. Base models should be a value added proposition for the formers and the high end ones might be roughly comparable to the latter. The only previous challenger was the S2000 and since Honda turned into 2000's Toyota that hasn't been an issue...

They don't have to get in a HP war though should be close enough to challenge in the end results: most practically the butt dyno and ability to get out of their own way while keeping the cost somewhat down.

It's getting to the point where the horsepower almost doesn't matter.

The GT-R is sitting at 545HP with a 0-60 in the 2 second range. The new Z06 is at 650HP or so... with a 0-60 in the same range. The Hellcats are at 707HP with a 0-60... ... ... you guessed it! In the same range.

If the next gen Z comes along with a 0-60 in the mid to low 4s range and stays true to the Z brand and doesn't cost an arm, leg, left nut, and a 401k loan, then we're good to go. Lots of ways to make that happen - you can do 0-60 in the mid 4s with 300, 400, or 500HP depending on how it's packaged. The key is to get the right package for the right price.

aren't nuts going for lik3 40k? wasn't there the story about a guy who sold a nut for the money for a 370? lol

as long as I got a fake one to fill the void i'd probably give one up for money. maybe the right one. I've always been a fan of the left one.

Thats garbage... Another compilation from the misinformation rumor mill. All this speculation is so random i'm going to speculate now and see whose closer in a year? Them or me. lol

2.0T start price between $27,000-$29,000
3.0TT between $34,000-$36,000

2.0T- 276-306hp 0-60 in 5.0-5.5 seconds Quarter in under 13.5
3.0TT 400-430hp 0-60 in 4.0 to 4.5 seconds Quarter in under 12.5

2.0T weight between 2,900-3,000lbs
3.0TT weight between 3,100-3,200lbs

Traditional 3 pod set up with Analog Tach gauge and configurable digital speedo gauge and info gauge. Config digital gaugepods on the center console. with up to 9 digital gauge settings.

Center touchscreen stereo system/nav option $500-700

Targa or T roof may be a possibilty.
No 4 seat version.

Styling, futuristic, yet retro with strong styling cues from the 240Z and mild styling cues from MB GTS

Possible 480-500hp Nismo RS (The $60k Z) with DCT transmission from Benz? (Since they modeled there new 7AT's after ours??)

Base, Sport, Nismo and Nismo RS with a luxury leather package for about $4,000 and a $2,200 tech pkg that can go into the first 3 models.

Since z owners have to wait 9 years for a Z35? I'm thinking it's for a reason
