I believe most (if not all) 2011s already have Rev D ESCL. This is the same revision they are using as a replacement for the recall. Problem is there are reports of the Rev D failing as well. We bought our 2011 in March 2011 (not sure of exact build date), it has Rev D, and I removed the fuse months ago.

Because of the way Nissan has handled this recall, if my car had been part of the recall, I would have replaced the fuse and taken it in to have the dealer replace the unit then pulled the fuse again, all just so Nissan would have to pay for it.

Searching before making threads sometimes prevents people from making a thread that's been made by every other 09-11 owner. Glad to see you're ecstatic about this, now go get it replaced lol.

Question, is this something I should be concern about engine won't start after pushing start button for automatic transmission? Car battery is good, it only happen once that it won't start on first try as my foot is fully depressed into brake pedal. 2nd attempted I push the start button the engine fire up fine.
Is this possible related to steering lock issue? I plan to take in my car to dealer to check for recall and find out what wrong. My car is built on 7/11.

Got mine replaced with a Rev E yesterday.

Oh okay. Thanks for the head up.

Well, I had mine replaced a week or so ago. But I'm confused as to what they've done.
Before I could look up under the steering wheel and see the part with number 7f00D.
Now when I look there, theres no part there. But there seems to be cable heading somewhere else under the dash.

I still hear the whir when I start the car. So its still got a steering lock. I thought they might just rip out the lock entirely.

So I'm assuming that they've completely redesigned the steering lock and relocated it somewhere else.

Well, I'm back. I was receiving my Z from my exwife yesterday and it wouldn't start. She tried looking up fixes and nothing would work. All my Z would do is show the key display. The windows would not roll up or down, it would not go into acc, and we were not sure what was going on. Now, my headlights work, doors will lock and unlock, hazards work, but that's about it. Are these the symptoms of the steering wheel lock issue? I've done my research but I could not fine anyone complaining about their windows not working. Well, it has been raining here about every day for 3 weeks - South Carolina. Yes, I have a tarp on it and taking it to the dealership tomorrow. From my research, it is covered but my car is a 2009 with 18,209 miles. I hope they fix it for free and all I have to do is pay for the towing. What a way to start out getting the Z back from the exwife.

TopGone 07-29-2013 09:19 PM

Towed my Z to the **** Smith Nissan and it was the steering wheel lock. They fixed it the same day. It was covered under the recall. So, $0.00 came out of my pocket! Yay!!! Everything works as it should. Just an update for you all.

JARblue 07-29-2013 09:22 PM

Glad they took care of you

I think the steering wheel lock failed.. and i'm stranded

I have a 2009 370z with 56k miles. I'm stranded at work.

Anyone know if I bring it to the dealership they could honor the recall that happened a few years ago?

They should absolutely honor it. Make sure they pay for the tow as well.

rgriesbeck 11-19-2019 10:11 PM

Just happened to me too. Recall was done in 2013, now 2019 and it's gone again.

Had to get the car towed, over $1000 CDN to have it fixed.

Was going to be $1400 but I was able to find the part faster and cheaper than the dealership...

Guess I'm going after Nissan Canada?

Has anyone had any luck getting the fix to the recall payed for?
