I had a $50 dollar deductible. Since the warranty could be used at any dealer or shop. My friend who owned the shop would do all the repairs. He would replace the parts with high performance parts. Need new trans got a racing trans, clutch racing, turbo big 16g turbo.. At no extra or if the part was a little more then I cover that cost no extra labor. That is the bomb! I know everything for the z is expensive so I am happy to have the warranty and will be happier if I find out my friends shop can work on it. LOL! |
Is the Security plus preferred pre-owned like the gold warranty or which one is it most like?

just placed my order for the maximum gold preferred security plus plan 96 months 120k miles ($0 deductible) came to $2340 total. Went back and forth between that and the 72 month 75k miles. reason I decided to go with the max was the 0% financing option and the fact that the warranty can be transferred or cancelled and prorated should I decide to sell the car etc. I feel pretty good having the peace of mind at a very reasonable rate.

Quick question for you guys, I read through the thread but didn't see this covered. Apologies if it was and I missed it.
Anyway, can you buy a Nissan Extended Warranty if you're not the original owner of the car? It seems like most of the guys in here either bought their car brand new and bought the warranty at a later date or bought a CPO and got the warranty with that. Does it matter if I am the second owner of a 370z and didn't get it at a Nissan dealership? Am I going to get laughed off the phone if I call Santa Rosa? My 09 factory warranty won't expire until Sept and it's way under the mileage limit, but I think I might sleep better knowing that I'm covered beyond that. Thanks in advance! |
no you don't need to be the first owner as long as the car is under factory 36 month 36k mile warranty you can extend it. easiest thing to do is just buy from nissan of sr's website. all the information is right there

Hello,
I am looking to purchase Gold Preferred for my 2009 Z with 34K miles. It will be out of the 3yr/36K warranty next month. Can someone PM me the contact info? I have OEM Nav, so I think Gold Preferred suits me the best because it covers Nav as well? Looking for 72months/100K miles. Thanks. |

I am waiting for them to resend my paperwork because they sent it to the wrong address... a little annoying but as long as it gets here this week it will be fine |

Since my car has more than 12K, they require an inspection from a Nissan dealership. Does anybody have any idea how much this should cost? |
Just to update: I called around to get the price and the best they give me is $200 for the 156 point inspection. It sucks though!

I got mine from Santa rosa just a week or so I love the service and the fast delivery of my papers thanks Santa rosa Nissan great deal
100% recommend. Fort huachuca AZ |

Hey guys I know this is an old thread but I do have a clarification about my Security+Plus Gold Preferred Plan "Service Agreement".
Is this different from Extended Warranty Service for my new vehicle? The reason I asked because it is stated in my manual for "service agreement" section 9: THIS AGREEMENT IS NOT A WARRANTY,AN EXTENSION OF A NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY,or AN IMPLIED or GENERAL WARRANTY. |
It's better than the extended warranty. It's basically the same as you factory oem warranty but with more months and more miles

I just noticed the new warranties at SR have a $100 deductible now. When I got mine for my 2011 it was $50 with an option for zero deductible.
|
My warranty was $2500 zero deductible 8 year 100000 miles.
Did you know you can cash it in when you sell and you can use it to pay off the loan or get cash back it prorated. Learned that from the dealer last night. |

Does not sound good seems like quality may not be that good with Nissan. Now they are paying for it on the backend.
I was at the Toyota dealer and found that even though they now sell only really mundane looking cars that someone with no sense of style would buy. Yet the quality if the cars was insane. |
I wouldn't even bother with an extended warranty if I had to pay a $100 deductible. I would no longer recommend people purchase an extended warranty now that they raised the deductible, not worth it IMO
|
bought the gold preferred 50 deductible @ 1287 for 100,000 miles or 5 years whatever comes first
|
Things that aren't covered under the gold preferred plan...
Paint, exhaust system, carpet, glass, upholstery, soft trim, weatherstripping, convertible soft top, moldings, bright metal, clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing (manual transmission), any and all in-vehicle communications systems, air bag sensors, conversion of the air conditioning system to operate on R134, battery, lenses and bulbs, tires, brake drums, disc brake rotors, wheels, MacPherson strut inserts, shock absorbers, squeaks, rattles, water leaks, wind noise, immobilizer key, and remote keyless entry switch assembly. I understand alot of these are typical wear and tear items, but i think a couple things like rattles, bulbs, weatherstripping, etc. should be covered |

anybody know if the Security+Plus Silver would cover oil consumption issues and the steering lock issue?
those are the only two things that I'm really worried about |
I know the gold wood I'm not sure about the silver

I have owned 2 Z's. Kept one for 4 years and the other for 2. Never had any problems except the front end alignment was incorrect on the 2003 which was covered by original warranty and a motor for driver's side window. Also, fixed under warranty. 2003 was the first year the 350Z came out.
I did not buy an extended warranty. They are a rip off IMO. The dealer makes a huge profit on them and you better read the warranty very carefully. It may not cover what you think it does. If you decide to buy one, offer 1/2 of the stated price and then meet them somewhere at the low end or in the middle. Another thing is that modding your Z will negate the orig. and extended warranty. |
Or just contact Nissan of Santa Rosa for a good quote up front. I had purchased my 5-75,000 gold prefered for around something like 789 etc. Had a couple of dealers in KC/KS offer that same factory warranty to me for 1499 & 1899. Santa Rosa says they want to sell volume vs 5-6 a month that are way over priced. :tiphat:

i was quoted $2900 for 100,000, plus $100 deductable 2 days ago from thousand oaks nissan. im at 33,000 miles and need to make a decision soon. and that was with 15% discount
|
also warranty does not cover a clutch
|
Just picked up my Nismo 11 # 4 8k miles after trading in my 11 370z. Got the zero deductable again $3000 I years 100k

and yes the bumper to bumper warranty will cover clutch if it's mechanical failure |
Nissan of Santa Rosa really raised their rates:
$100 deductible, under 40,000 miles 370Z Gold Preferred 12 Month 12,000 Mile Coverage: $779.00 370Z Gold Preferred 24 Month 24,000 Mile Coverage: $1,047.00 370Z Gold Preferred 36 Month 36,000 Mile Coverage: $1,356.00 370Z Gold Preferred 48 Month 48,000 Mile Coverage: $1,418.00 370Z Gold Preferred 60 Month 60,000 Mile Coverage: $1,573.00 370Z Gold Preferred 72 Month 80,000 Mile Coverage: $1,669.00 |

If that's true, then CLEARLY the way to go is to wait for 3/36 to get the Security-plus. |

Just curious. The people who bought their car used ( not certified) what kind of warranty did you get for the car?
