Default The Z is going crazy

Or so it seems. I got in my car and hear a funny sound as I pressed in on the clutch. Didn't even think it was from my car at the time (this is hindsight mind you). I start to drive home - just a few blocks - and hear a very odd, almost rubbing/grinding sound. I thought my tire was rubbing against something at first as this happened during a lane change. then I notice my VDC light flickering. Then I notice my alighment is gone. The wheel has to be turned to the left (about the 10:30 position) in order for the car to go straight.

This all just happened like 15 min ago. I apologize if this has been covered before, but I tried a search for VDC on here, but I kept getting 0 results. Which has to be wrong because I know I've seen VDC in the tittle of posts on here. My Z is my daily driver so I'm off to the shop first thing in the AM, but if anyone is awake and can offer up any opinions, that might make sleep come a little easier.

Bizarre. Did you make sure that your wheel wasn't coming off?

Well, even the mechanics at the dealership were at a loss as to what happened. They confirmed that I did not hit anything, but that somehow my wheels and steering wheel were no longer syncing up. They readjust the suspension (got rid of the sound I occasionally heard) adjusted the steering and checked the alignment - which turned out to be fine. This was extra bizarre.

There is always a reason, something changed they just didn't figure out what happened. If the alignment was fine then the steering shaft skipped inside the steering box - not good.

Indeed. I just can't figure out what happened to allow for that??? It's driving me crazy. I wonder if it was a cumulative effect kind of thing. There's a speed bump right on two turns in the parking garage at work, maybe I'm not slowing down enough and the car got tired of it? Maybe it was a gremlin? I could guess for days...

Do you kiss your Z goodnight every time you put her away for the night??? I have done that with my past two Nissans (Spec V) (08 Altima) and now my Z. They have never given me any problems. LOL

I'll have to give that a try. But I definitely did a quick one and pep talk when I handed her over to a valet last night. Yamashiro is a cool spot, but they really should offer a park it yourself option.
