Berk HFC and my Warranty

Good evening, I am posting for my first time. Usually I read a few threads here and there and I'm impressed by the very nice community you guys have. I

Cool Berk HFC and my Warranty

Good evening,

I am posting for my first time. Usually I read a few threads here and there and I'm impressed by the very nice community you guys have.

I drive an 09 370z.

Just a quick question about the Berk Hi-Flow cats. I realize that they very rarely throw CELs and that they are completely legal in my state.

However, I was just curious about whether or not they will void my warranty with Nissan. I've been looking for this answer everywhere and I have not found a concrete answer on any forums or messageboards. I'm afraid that Nissan will not like me touching their precious cats and this is my daily driver so it's not ideal for me to lose my warranty and then the next day something breaks. Although, it better not because I've only got ~1000 miles on my 370z.

It pretty much depends on the dealer, some are better to deal with then others. Most dealers will still honor the warrenty on the car as long as the parts you've added haven't directly affected or caused problems with the car. If you get a CEL, chances are they won't fix it under warrenty with HFC's on your car. If your window regulator stops working, they don;t really have a reason not to fix it since your HFC's would never affect the performance of window regulator.

Ah, so there's still a chance I might get denied... well I guess I'm just going to have to see how much they like it, granted I ever need something replaced or fixed. Thanks for the quick response!

Just hang onto your stock cats as a 'just in case' measure. If you really needed to, you could swap your stock cats back in before taking your car in for warranty work.

you really have to find out what's your dealership stand on modding.... my dealer told me to keep every stock part and if something is wrong... before sending pics and info to HQ for warranty work.... they or I would install the stock parts for the pics....lol

Ive always had no problems with my dealerships. Honda. Infinti, and now Nissan. All of them have been mod friendly. The Nissan Dealership by me has there own performance division with competitive pricing so I just go there. Its a win-win situation for me, I guess it depends on the dealership. I have test pipes and i brought my car in, and the service manager make a remark how he loved the cold start aggressiveness and sound without the cats on. I was in to reset my TPMS when i got the 19" rays, which they didnt charge me for even though they weren't the original rims. So the cats out of the bag now for me, but as per what he said I highly doubt I will have any issues if work is needed.

best and smartest post here.

best thing is keep all stock parts. yes its a pain but if something goes wrong put your car back to stock specs before taking it back for warranty work
