Update on my Z. My second time to dealership the Steering Wheel lock was replaced. Now I have a new IPDM and Steering wheel lock. According to my nice service manager he told me Nissan recommends replacing IPDM first. So round two I got the Steering Wheel lock.

Also this may be wrong because I was half asleep when my service manager was talking to me but he claimed both IPDM/Steering Wheel lock are connected to the same fuse and one of them was shorting/burning? it out and my case Steering Wheel lock.

I swear you all are gonna have this issue and this is NISSAN'S job to fix this for us! We paid so much money for these z's and look its obvious this needs to be a recall situation I just dont know how to get this started w Nissan. I'm sure some you guys are talented n can fix the issue...wish I can.

Exact same thing happend to me Saturday- had car a year now no problems- parked it in my garage- got IKWL and start button just says LOCK- tried to get it towed but flat bed didn't have wheel dollies (steering locked). I tried to reset by disconnecting the battery but did not do anything. Do not use in winter so it sitting in my garage- talked to dealer they have no idea- will get it towed next week. Down in Costa Rica now enjoying the warm weather the Z can wait.

Any insight if you get fixed be appreciated:shakes head:

I totally agree with you! I had to get my car towed, missed work, and now the stupid part is on back order. which i dont pay all this money for this car for it to be in the shop waiting for one little part, that seems to be an issue with many of these Z's.
