To open the top you press and hold the "open" side then release once the top is open. To close you hold it on the "close" side. I assume that internally it has 2 contacts and that neither is connected when the button is not being pushed. __________________ 2010 Roadster, 7AT, Black Cherry, Touring, Navigation, Lighted Kick Plates, Floor and Trunk Mats.
