probably should check out the Junkman series of posts in the detailing section. Can't go wrong with the Junkman's recommendations.

oooo a red one.. it's going to show swirls more.
just run it through automatic carwash and dont drag your microfiber towel
roughly throughout the surface cuz that scratches it bad..

I believe the OM recommends to not run a roadster through a car wash. The soft top is not designed to handle high pressure water.

There are soft top cleaning/protectant kits on the market. I use RagTop products.

...and the paint isn't designed to handle those sandpaper like brushes either. Running your car through a car wash is the quickest way to damage the paint. Why anyone would do this to a car that they actually care about is beyond my comprehension. You want swirls? Go visit a car wash. You want swirls at a little smaller rate? Wash your car with 1 bucket.
