Here is a video from 8/29/19 of the new bungee with lid still hitting roof. It was in the morning about 7am with 62 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Little chilly with some humidity.

I had the new bungee fix installed by dealer/Nissan engineer on 8/13/19. On 8/26 I noticed the first time the lid hit the roof as I was about to drive to work at 7am. It was about 65 degrees Fahrenheit outside and lots of humidity. The lid hit again on 8/27, worked fine on 8/28 and then again hit the roof on 8/29 as I recorded the video below.
Also want to point out that on those days it worked fine in the afternoon/evening when the temperature was higher (80 or so). The dealership did tell me that these bungees are rated to work at temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit, so not sure why they are failing at 62 degrees.

i recently saw an article online where a 2017 nissan 370z roadster was reviewed. it's interesting that a brand new roadster would have an issue with the lid hitting the tonneau cover (roof).

I don't find it all that strange given it is a known defective part. When mine was being serviced I went out with the service manager to look at the brand new 370's sitting on the lot. 2 out of 3 had the same issue with tonneau cover contacting the rear of top and the cars were brand new.

Lawyer up, collect several thousand dollars (probably more, mine was a 2010), and don't let the dealer touch your car ever again. The best fix is to have a local convertible top specialist install new, higher quality bow straps and make all necessary adjustments. It is a very easy fix and does not cost much at all (I think I was quoted $300-$500 before selling the car).

Same issue as you, vman. I’m having some health issues and do not have time to deal with Nissan right now. But, I think this is it for me and this car.

I have an appointment for my 2019 to fix the top issue the day after tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted. In other related news, my check service engine light came on today. Only have 4,700 miles on her. That mid engine Vette is looking pretty good right about now.

I had check engine evap code come up last year took 3 trips to the dealer for them to figure out. They kept changing things and resetting ecu, but 2 days later it would come back. After third trip it was gone for good.

Here is something interesting. Few months ago took a coworker (he's overweight - maybe 350lbs) to lunch. Turned car on with him in it, fuel cap warning came on. I turned it off but it turned into check engine light p0457 evap code and wouldnt go away. After a week or so i just reset the ecu codes, it worked and never came back. I think there must be a hose or something, that the extra weight cause the car to press on or squeeze. But thats crazy if loading up your car will cause various systems to fail....
The quality just isn't there in nissan/infiniti.

Well, my car is still sitting at the dealership 4 days later. The bungee cord part needed for the top fix is backordered. They are ordering a new fuel sensor since they reset everything twice and the light came back on. Can't believe I'm having these troubles with a brand new car. I'll keep you guys posted.

Heading to dealership to pick up my car. The top is not fixed as they will have one of the necessary parts Monday, but the other part needed for the fix is on back order/ unavailable and they don't know when it will be available. Wish they would have checked into this before I drove my car to the dealership 30 minutes away and having it sit there for 5 days. Still don't know about it they fixed my fuel sensor. Sigh

I hate to say it but I am not surprised at all you are seeing this on a brand new car. As mentioned in my above post, 2 out of 3 brand spanking new 370z's had this "adjustment issue" last time I was at a Nissan lot.

I just noticed a new issue with the new roof. Sometimes when closing passenger side door the window doesn't close inside the roof trim, but on the outside. As a result it leaves a huge gap where water/rain can easily get in. I kept opening and closing the door and same result, I had to press on the window when closing the door to make the window go under the trim.

I would love to own a roadster 370Z but it seems there are too many problems with the soft top.

Here is another issue that resulted from the new roof. I had new roof put in around october 2018 and didn't drive much due to winter, so just put the car in garage. After taking it out in the spring of 2019 (May) I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the passenger side window area. It only seems to happen when it rains and the roof gets wet. Once I hit summer, it’s been pretty dry so I almost forgot about this issue. Now that it's fall and it rains this issue is back. When I got the new bungees installed I asked the technician to look into squeaking but he said he didn’t hear anything (it was a raining that day). See video below.

Interesting on squeaky window on passenger side. I also sometimes get this, but I live in Dubai and it rarely rains here!
I find that if I very quickly touch window switch so it moves a fraction and no more noise disappears. I was going to try some silicon grease in the seal but wanted first to find out if that would degrade rubber.
I have a leaky hydraulic cylinder and it is proving a right nightmare. Back in the UK I had a Lotus Elan M100 with mechanical hand operated roof - it was a lot less trouble.
