Repainting the whole car - any advice?

Fairly new here, so I apologize if this has been answered before, but I probably need some hand holding.

A few months ago, I located a 370Z roadster in a spec that I have been waiting for for some years to come up on the used market. I had driven that car in 2010, but it wasn't available for purchase then (it was a manufacturer demo car), but my wife an I said that we would buy one, if we ever saw it.

So it is a 2010 black cherry / touring - beautiful car, but it does nave literally hundreds of tiny paint chips to the degree where the paint is deteriorated enough to consider repainting it back to factory quality standards. I've looked into this issue and I am past the sticker shock.

Wanted to see if there is someone who has had a similar decision to make, and if this is something advisable to do. And if so, what kind of place is qualified to take on something like this (a general well-rated body shop?) and what is an acceptable cost - my estimates for a full repaint (not sure if they considered the pearl paint) range from $4K to about $15K.

Any advice and thoughts?

I havent done a repaint but I did some looking a few years back, it seems like a full repaint was in the 8k-10k range. If your goal is to repaint to OEM because of the rock chips why are you painting the whole car, now days a good paint shop should be able to match standard paints to a level where it's very difficult to see the difference. I would consider looking at vinyl wraps if your intent on doing a whole car, it's about 1/2 the cost of paint for a quality job.

I too looked in to Wrapping my 09 due to many rock chips. They told me the imperfections will show with the wrap unless I have body work done. I decided I will live with it for now.

It may depend on the wrap but I can't see any of the chips/imperfections.

Wrap is maybe not an option

Thought about a wrap, but the chips and some scratches are just too deep and I am pretty sure they would show. Thinking about painting and then wrapping to protect the paint. Thanks for the thoughts!

As a reference for you, last year I had my Black cherry front end repainted due to rock chips...... Bumper, hood, front fenders, $1400 Included repairs to chips. I did have a second estimate for $2000
