Very excited to share this Update...
I spoke to the manufacturer today and the reason for the delayed response is they currently have three projects in development. Since we have a few members that are starting to think this might not happen I want to share the prototype pictures!!! Like I said before.... They nailed the shape of this top and it transforms our roadster to a whole new level, giving it an exotic sports car look and updating our platform. Tooling to produce should be completed in 4 weeks and production will start! Again this is the unfinished prototype that will give you a good sense of what is coming! Look at the sleek shape and the best part is no more carnival bow lines. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7872c5770c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0bdcbcce80.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e5d31f2ea0.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Looking good! Now if only the hood vents people will let us see their prototype :ugh2:

Hard Top Option
:hello: Count me in Blue Ranger, my 2010 convertible top has developed the won't open or close virus. After three attempts to "adjust" it, Nissan wants to replace it to cure my ills. A "top shop" recommended my Nissan can't make it right either. The prototype photo looks great. If this is a money saving alternative to a replacement, add me to the list of very interested parties. Let's make lemonade out of these lemons!!

If this had been out when I bought my Z I might have gone convertable

This is not only a "major" saving alternative just look how it transforms the roadster :driving: |

This top design totally exceeded my expectations and I can honestly say I prefer the overall shape of the roadster compared to the coupe. I really wanted to wait for the final version, but I felt a need to share these pictures and let everyone see the process  |

Thanks, blueranger, for keeping us all updated. Hopefully we'll get some great news early next year sometime. :)

Sorry for the delayed response. Have been super busy getting ready for the new racing season.
So here is a much needed update... I spoke with the manufacturer a couple days ago to check in and after putting the top on hold to catch up with existing orders, they are now working on finishing the prototype and placing it on the donor car. This will confirm final fitment and will release the finished top!!! :yum: Once completed and launched they will start with a limited amount of orders until they can figure out total demand and production. This is why this list is so important and when they complete the final launch it will be first come first serve. As I have stated before... I am not associated with the manufacturer but was desperate to find an option for my broken top. After several conversations and convincing them that our platform has a need for this hard top, not only for looks but to give us a removable top... They agreed to develop after I could show at least a dozen or more interested to buy. Super exited and should have official launch pics this month if all final details go as planned  Thanks again for your interest and patience. |
Interested in some detail
I too would be interested in the hard top. I am curious regarding the interior trim, road noise factor, and overall strength and stability. And I know some people had a problem with the window rubbing against the vert top edge and eventually caused the top to need to be replaced. There is the ability to adjust the window for clearance, but there is a limit. Also curious how the windows will fit regarding the hitting issue. But, even with some concerns, I am interested. Put me on your list too.

Add me please thanks

I’m excited for you guys and I don’t even own a vert! Can’t wait to see the final production. Sorry if discussed before but will there be a prepainted option? Carbon fiber perhaps? And what’s the estimated ball park for one? just curious as i’m sure these info will get released soon enough.

I waited a month to get this chance to say "count me in!"
(impulse purchased a sweet roadster a month ago. Knew nothing about them except it was a gorgeous day and I got smitten for a top-down toy. Got home that night, found this forum, then discovered the whole top-fear thing. No wonder I got such a great deal. Lol) I'm not going to let the potential issue steal my joy. This car is so much fun for a 60 year old truck-dude. She's my sunny day only mistress anyway. Keep her tucked in the barn. (Took longer to get activated in this forum than it did to get a custom fit Noah cover made and delivered) ;) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5dd38f7b50.jpg Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
@blueranger Anticipation..................

The only setback is a broken top out of warranty but we will have an awesome option soon! |

I figured that should get us more than just one teaser ;) don’t hold back now! Do we have anymore pics from a distance or from the inside looking out the back?
|
That is drop dead gorgeous, in my opinion.

The smooth lines and angles are on point :yum: I was persistent and proved to the manufacturer that our roadsters really needed a hard top option. The biggest selling point was letting them know how much it cost to replace the top if you are out of warranty. Thank you all that showed interest in purchasing this top. Without you I could have not convinced the company to develop. :tiphat: |

So... maybe I'll get a convertible Z next... That top looks great!! |
Damn, now I wish I had a vert.
|
Used Z convertible prices just shot up 10 to 20%! LOL
