Any Roadsters with Spoilers?

Looking to see some pictures of Roadsters with Spoilers added.

Been tossing around the idea....

Check out my photo album.
Mine is extreme to some people but I like it.

Bummer 05-18-2015 05:14 PM

I have the Spoiler Solutions spoiler on mine. I paced back and forth a lot, mentally, about adding the spoiler. Now that it's there I wonder why I took so long. To me, it just looks right.

I didn't drill/screw mine in. Clay barred the area, alcohol swabbed it off and used 3M. Survived the winter plus 140mph on a track in cold weather.

I love the look of the spoiler on your car. Did it come painted? How hard was it to install? I just contacted the company (they are not far from me). I am a little nervous about the install myself but really like the look on your car so it may be in my near future.

God bless
John

Really like the rear Z emblem! Hard to apply?:tiphat:

Jdew72 05-20-2015 12:27 PM

Nope just used fishing line to remove the old one, removed excess adhesive, and these came with new adhesive. Just stuck it on. Did the front too.

Where did you buy it from? It comes with the matching paint?

If I remember correctly mine was just under $300 from Spoiler Solutions on Ebay. Comes pre-painted and with the basic stuff to install it - screws and drill guides. I had to get a tube of clear silicone sealant, a stepped drill bit, and tape to hold the guides in place.

Did a quick google of Fleabay. This is the only one I found - 160 in primer, 250 painted (plus shipping).

The hardest part was actually putting drill bit to trunk. Not physically hard. Not technically hard. Psychologically, on the other hand...

There are a couple of well detailed threads on here about doing it:

and

Looks good. I couldn't bring myself to go the 3M route. I was afraid of what would happen if it got used as a handle for the trunk - which it has.

But most importantly, someone let a Roadster on a track? I thought those days were gone forever.

Sometimes I say things like the word "track" to make it sound more acceptable to those who find 140mph a tad fast for an empty highway. And yes mine is a handle to close the trunk as well. It ain't coming off.

Ah. Sometimes I go to that track for testing, myself. Only on track days, of course.

I wish I'd had that confidence. Now I have four holes in the trunk. That's something of a commitment.

Spoilers

Do it Man. They look great!

Revrent 05-25-2015 06:32 AM

Thanks

After seeing this thread and talking to some of the owners I called Spoiler Solutions and they came out the next day and installed a spoiler on my car in about 20 minutes. Total cost was $350 and they took off 25 for a veteran discount making it only 325 installed. I think it looks great and like it came from the factory.

I can't thank you all enough for this thread and your advice.

God bless
John

gadgitlee 05-26-2015 01:32 PM

Do these spoilers block much more of the vision out the back window?

Revrent 05-26-2015 09:30 PM

I do not even see the spoiler out the back convertible window.

God bless
John

Thanks.

I liked the Chicane Yellow, but would still have picked Solid Red. Taste buds and all that.

Cooltoy, thanks for posting the variety pack. Spoilers are a very "taste bud" sort of thing. I am even more convinced I got the right one for me. Still, there's no reason someone else might not like a duck bill, or a taller one.

Some Seriously good looking roadsters here!

Nice looking Roadster.

Was your spoiler specifically for the Roadster, or did it take some massaging? Who made it/where did you get it? (I'm not shopping, but someone else might be.)

NickD 06-29-2015 07:43 AM

It's AeroJacket

It will require some slight modifications on the 2 mounting "legs" to fit the contour of the roadster trunk. They make it in CF and in Fiberglass.

Bummer 06-29-2015 02:12 PM

Thanks for posting the details.

ZDIRTY4 08-07-2015 08:19 PM

I have one forsale if you're interested, I bought it a while ago. I believe I read that it was the Evo-r roaster spoiler. Trying to get $180 plus shipping if you're interested. Not too familiar with how to upload pictures, but pm me and I'll give you my number.

Here's a link I found for it

Thanks

I just sent jdew a pm about this also.... My new spoiler is sitting here...

OldGuyFla 02-08-2016 10:37 AM

Hi,
I got mine last week & it is on already, not real hard. It took me a day & a half & I was slowed down because I dropped a screw into the trunk cavity & had to get it out.
