Will you pay over sticker to have a new 370Z?
Just wondering how many of you are willing to pay over sticker for a new Z? I have no idea what the demand for the car will be, but surely even with the crap economy there will be more people wanting the car, than are available.
I for one won't pay over sticker for any car, and I'm comfortable waiting for a while until some good deals are available. What say you? |
Nope. Won't pay more than MSRP. I'm tired of that. These dealerships are going to lose my business if they mark up. I expect a 1-2K markup, but I've seen some CRAZY mark-ups before... When we bought our Solstice GXP, the dealships wanted 20K over sticker! And the I've already seen a 40K markup on the Challenger SRT8.
If I see the dealerships mark-up the Zs like I've been seeing others do to their cars, I won't be buying a Z right away. I'll wait until the price drops to MSRP. I'm patient, not stupid. |
no way jose !!!
i would be paying under sticker if anything.....got the G for under sticker and look at my signature !!!!!! |
I wouldnt pay more than MSRP. Anything over it would just be plain and stupid.
|
the whole excitement is to get a Z, but also to try and get a deal

Our local dealer was charging $8k over sticker for the SRT8 a few months ago, but now they are already $2k off of sticker. That didn't take long. I drove both an R/T and SRT8 last week and wasn't very impressed. |
I'm going to wait for a second year production Z anyways. Markups won't be problem. Either way I wouldn't pay over MSRP.

^^ I will bet that dealerships would not mark-up a Z like the GT-R's has been
just the other day, i got an ad from my dealership that are selling there GT-R's at MSRP !!!! |
ya never pay over sticker for any car lol
|
^^ this is coming from the person who bought 2...yes 2 g37's for sticker price
|
first was sticker second one was not
|
I'd never pay over MSRP for a car. If I can't get it at MSRP I'll wait it out. Unless its a Ferrari the price will drop.
|
Everyone here who is saying that they would pay over sticker, just know what you're the ones messing it up for everyone. These a-hole dealers couldn't charge over sticker if you people would refuse to pay it.
|
Are you kidding? In this market they will be lucky to get me to pay invoice for a new car.
Bring on the redtag, 0% financing please. :) |

I totally agree. Fools that rush out to buy and settle over sticker are just screwing the rest of the community! (Including themselves by paying more in the first place) |
if you are paying more than msrp :gtfo2:
|
I don't plan on paying more than 1k over invoice if I decide to pull the trigger on a first year model. Second year model .... no more than a couple hundred over invoice

ok..prices will start at MSRP and then drop like bird droppings...and come to 0.9% financing...lol
|

actually....less than 6 these days....lol
it took the G 9-12 months to go invoice |
Anyone who buys one of these when they first come out will lose money.
Youll lose money on a new car anyways but in todays market dealers cant sell cars that people need much less a sports car that seats two people. Give this car 3 months before buying and youll save yourself 2 or 3 grand. If the economy continues to take a crap maybe even more. |

I drove an R/T and SRT8 Challenger last week and wasn't impressed. I love car shopping. :driving: |

I checked out the challenger as well, felt like driving a boat ... no thanks. I also drove the mustang when the new body style came out, even cheaper interior than the General, plus it drove like a truck. |

Any word from your local dealers on availability? |

I did however see two truck carriers with 370s heading down the freeway a week and a half ago. |
I've had 5 GMs... 2 4th Gen Trans Ams, a 79 Bonneville (my first car), a L98 Corvette, and an 07 GXP Solstice (turbo). I ONLY liked the 2002 WS6 which hardly had mechanical problems until my friend bottomed it out really bad... (After that it was game over for that car)
I'm NOT impressed at all with GM interior. Even the Cadi's have crap interior. Plain-Jane crap materials, with the most bogus GPS. Even the Corvette ZR1 which costs over $100,000 has garbage interior. I mean really... They need to get a clue. Also, I'm tired of EVERYTHING falling of the cars. GM quality is like Mon-Fri beer-day at the factories with Sat-Sun off. For crying out loud, the damn door handles on the Solstice PULLED RIGHT OUT OF THE DOOR!!! BOTH OF THEM!!! The convertible top has been in TWICE for repair, a shock blew out, parts in the interior simply CAME OFF, and the back deck doesn't stay up if a tiny wind blows. The car is a horrid POS! Done with American cars. Nissan all the way baby! Never had problems with our G35, M35 and for 19 year-old car, my Z is doing quite well! |

I might pay MSRP, but definitely not a penny over, I'll never pay a mark-up, cars depreciate too quickly for that. I think dealers will be coming down on the price quickly on this car if they do. It's a little different then the GT-R's or Camero and Challengers, those havn't been around for awhile. I know the 370 is all new, but it's not a radical departure from a 2008 350z.
I'd like to pick one up in a few weeks, but if dealers are marking them up, I'll wait til spring or summer when the price goes down. The extra $ I save will go right to mods. Braden |
Summer is the time to buy, July/Augustish.
Below MSRP FTMFW! |

Out of my long resume (21 in 9 years) of sport and muscle cars, the only "american" car that was good quality was my 06 GTO, and it's hard to call that american since it was technically built in australia. |
If anything I'm going to be paying less...
And I'll be getting more! And I hope everyone here will too. You gotta talk it out right! |

$33,470 for a touring (squinting my eyes really hard)... http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1629/cimg0792nd4.jpg pic thanks to AK@Performanc |
^ Actually its $38,470. The MSRP base price says $34K something.
|
so basically the touring model is around $4000 more than the base?
