370z Lease.

Hi! I currently own a 2003 350z and I'm looking to upgrade to the 370z.
I was looking around and I saw on the Nissan website they're running a lease special on 370z's.

"2013 370Z Coupe 6MT with Splash Guards and Mats Lease

I WOULD BE BUYING THE CAR WHEN THE LEASE IS OVER.
I called my local dealership and here's what they told me.
- 299/month
- $3,388 down
- $1,000 rebate on MSRP
- 12,000 miles/year
I currently drive ~8,000/year.
Thoughts on this? I cant decide between getting this 370z,
or purchasing a 05-08 350z.
I would like to get all the hp I can out of the stock engine in one of these before adding aftermarket parts.
Which is why I'm leaning towards the 370z.

Hi, at the end of the month you have to spend your money so I guess we can't really tell you what you should do. Having said that, I would personally go with a 370z without thinking twice about it.

If you're planning on keeping the car, I'd rather you go for the 0% APR/60 months thing if they still have it.

If you've already made the decision to purchase it after the lease is over, you're better off just financing from the beginning. Lease will just cost you more money in the long run, but it is the better option if you might want another vehicle after the lease.

Thanks for the input thus far guys.
I'm not sure if I'll have quite enough money for a gtr yet or not.
So that's why I was leaning more towards a lease.
That way if I don't have enough, I still have my 370z.
I'm also debating buying an 06-08 350z and adding turbo, exhaust, intake etc.
Decisions are hard!

If you are buying at the end of the lease I said finance it instead, I've heard many people saying lease is 100x better than finance and you can always buy the car after at a great price. I also know a few people including my parents that actually tried to buy the car after the lease was over. All of them got a completely different price from what they told them originally. And ended up going to another dealership to finance or buy a much more used. IMO I think that leasing is a waste of money and if you are keeping the car finance it instead. plus they do have a 0% APR until 7/1/2013 Good Luck!!

If u buy it and finance it at 60 mo at 0% assume 3000 down and finance 30,000 / 60 = 500 per month so that's probably why the lease deal is better for him.

If u only drive 8k per year you should lower you annual miles to 10k to save more money on your payments. Good luck!

Also don't forget the advertised lease deal is negotiable. You can negotiate the selling price, the end purchase price, etc. read edmunds buying guide to learn how leases work. If u live near several different dealers pit their Internet sales against each other to try to get a better deal. Good luck!
