Insurance

So, I wanted to know what would cost more my 370z insurance or my GT-R insurance if they were separate. Me being who I am thought my GT-R insurance would cost me more. Was I wrong though, my GT-R insurance per year is $1,485 while a year my 370z would be $1,950. Made me Laugh so hard. Especially being that my GTR costs 2x the price of my 370z. 20 year old college student 0 tickets 0 accidents. ZZZZ Combined together through my insurance company I only pay $2,352 a year.

shadoquad 09-17-2012 09:11 PM

Yep. Even a Z06 is cheaper to insure.

For reference, this guy has participated in 4 threads and 2 of them look like this:

http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...d-my-370z.html

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 09:43 PM

Sorry, those are just the threads he started. He literally can't post in a thread without a "look how much money I make" post:

http://www.the370z.com/lounge-off-to...inkys-otc.html

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 09:44 PM

I mean, fine if you're well off. I do ok for myself too but this guy is obnoxious if not an outright troll.

ya this kids a joke, remember he was like "I didnt get the Audi R8 Graduation gift so i settled for.... gtfo:gtfo2:

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 09:54 PM

Yes his "uncle wrecked the R8 I was supposed to get as a graduation gift".

That is a real thing that this person said.

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 09:55 PM

Also please don't mistake disgust for jealousy. Most of us who y'know..earn a good living don't go around trying to rub other people's noses in it. Just a thought.

Also there appears to be no way to ignore/block users on this forum. What's up with that?

monkeyfist8 09-17-2012 09:57 PM

Hate to say it someone sounds mad.....

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 10:00 PM

Mad? Hardly. I see you reading this thread. You're probably that same troll who was starting crap with sponsors.

Either that or you really don't understand that people you don't know don't want to hear how much money you make on an anonymous internet forum. Do you see anyone else waving their W-2s or savings account statements around?

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 10:01 PM

So you can ignore users but you have to do it from your profile and not theirs which doesn't make a lot of sense but there you go.

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 10:02 PM

"Guys, check out how much money I make"

"Guys, I banged SO many chicks I'm awesome"

"Guys I bench 600lbs"

You are that guy. Please understand what that means. It is not a compliment.

monkeyfist8 09-17-2012 10:05 PM

Umm for 1, I don't have sex with random women. I didn't buy my cars because I thought "society thought they were cool." I bought them because I love nissan. 2) I'm sorry someone asked me how I afford it and I told them. 3rd I definitely can not bench press 600 lbs. And Mr. Troll, please troll somewhere else. Thanks <3.

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 10:08 PM

Yeah that's the same troll from the sponsor threads lol.

Reported for IP check and just gonna leave him on ignore and I won't lose sleep over it either way.

dmhenderson 09-17-2012 10:23 PM

In case anyone was really wondering whether this guy was legit or not, I just ran the numbers on a 2012 GT-R vs. my 2012 nismo 370z. I have a flawless driving record and this is what came up:

New Monthly Premium
$ 204.95

Current Monthly Premium
$ 129.35

Total Monthly Premium Increase
$ 75.60

Premium Increase for Remainder of Policy Term
$ 451.10

tl;dr he's full of crap.

monkeyfist8 09-17-2012 10:40 PM

Umm. I wasn't joking/lying. Our age categories I bet are completely different. Dip ****. So please learn facts first. Thanks. Btw... I bet you are like 30 years old but you act like a 14 year old kid.

LakeShow 09-17-2012 10:43 PM

20 and have a GTR and 370z, nice.

GSXR1K 09-17-2012 11:04 PM

Lol, and im sure he has a lambo and Ferrari as a daily driver too

BrianSoCal 09-17-2012 11:55 PM

Kids of Instagram?

monkeyfist8 09-18-2012 12:02 AM

pssh I wish I had a ferrari as a daily driver. I'd drive the **** out of that.

Shouldn't you have blocked and stop responding to this guy like 10 posts ago? Sounds like someone else is full of crap too. If he is trolling he is doing a superb job of trolling you. And FYI insurance for 1 person does not mean anything about insurance for the next person, different factors change rates alot.

:tiphat:

TypeOne 09-18-2012 09:46 AM

Pics of said GTR and Z?

Yup he's blocked but I figured I'd look up rates just for the hell of it. My point is/was that insurance on a GT-R will be more money than insurance on a Z any day of the week no matter WHO you are. I can't really see a scenario where you can insure a $110k car for less than a 30-40k car (both being in the same high performance sports car insurance class)

FlawlessZ 09-18-2012 11:31 AM

Shoulda got an r8 man...

Pfft, should have bought my car, so I can use that money towards a Z.

Cmike2780 09-18-2012 01:12 PM

I love Nissans too, but owning both and complaining about the insurance is kind of silly. Less people own GTR's so less people wreck them. Not a whole lot of people use the GTR as a daily driver or only car either which is the main reason you get a lower rate with multiple cars. After looking at your rate, they actually seem kind of low. My first car was a 15 year old Jeep... basic insurance was over $2k a year. I highly doubt the GTR has a lower premium than the Z by itself, but there are a lot of factors to consider. The age thing or bracket doesn't really matter if you're comparing which car is more expensive to insure. Both are going to either go up..or go down respectively. OP, you do stock trading, you should already know how this works.

I'm pretty curious about this. Considering the GT-R is a supercar, is that stuff DD-able in the first place? I'd think that later on (after racking up miles) it'd be as reliable as a 50K+ mileage BMW. As for OP, I don't think you should really worry about insurance prices considering that you have enough money anyways.

Sure why not? Now the question would be would u WANT to daily drive it, you know keep the miles down on it.:driving:

I want to DD a GTR mizuno said the GTR is made to DD. and is a 50k+ mileage BMW not reliable or something?

Haboob 09-18-2012 02:52 PM

I don't see the point of buying a car and not driving it. Maybe not a DD, but an every-other day DD then.

Mr&Mrs 09-18-2012 03:06 PM

Well if this guy is legit his age shows. With age proving yourself kind of falls to the way side.

On topic:

My 05 SRT-4 with comprehensive coverage is just 10.00 less a month than both of our 370's with full coverage.

What is full coverage per mo. on your 370, if you don't mind me asking?

Full coverage is $80/mo. on my SRT4. Was told $100 would be the rate once I got my 370.

...however, I just got notice that my premium is going up to $100/mo for the SRT, so I'm gonna shop around again (1yr intro. rate must be up, as I have no tickets or claims).

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 03:42 PM

Thanks to this thread I did figure out that GT-R insurance is affordable though. Now I just need to sell the idea to the girlfriend

It will, and that's why it never materializes from these guys.

True. I don't think we should all rush to judgement, but it does sound a bit odd. Usually someone who claims to be a big Nissan fan will usually want to post pics of their ride, especially a new Z next to thier GT-R. It's pretty easy to snap a pic with an iPhone these days. I mean, he went out of his way to prove he's a day trader in his other thread. For all we know, he might just be a good bullshyter or good at photoshop.

Seriously considering buying a GT-R next year. Just not sure whether I want to sell the Z or keep it because I'm kinda attached at this point.
