The Z is holding it's value surprisingly well. OP, it's a fair value if you sell it at the dealer, but I would def sell it on your own if you have the time. You'll get a lot more for it and the person who buys it from you will get a better deal than buying from the dealership. Go to Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book and see what it's worth to buy, sell or trade.

If you dont mind sharing, why are you selling? It hurts me when someone sells a brand new car like that.

As mentioned earlier it sets covered in the back of the garage. I thinking 31ish with the extended warranty included.

Thats a good thing. I have to DD mine. Take it to work on nicer days, and on the weekends break her out. Why made you want a Z to begin with? Drive that baby!:driving:

How soon can you find a private buyer that will pay 30k+ for your car?

No disrespect, but I rather buy a brand new 2012 OTD for 36k than buy your 2011 for 30k + tax/title/fees.

Just saying.

If you don't mind me asking... why are you trading or selling your Z to the dealership? It seem to have really less mileage.

I saw they had 2011 red sport with 3500 miles on the lot for 32000. I would have sold them mine if they offer was better. I know I will sell it privately. Again if the easy dollars were there I would have had no problem with them cutting me a check. But in my heart I knew they were a dealership business to make money.

If it's equipped the same, you may have a point, but if it's fully load Touring/Sport for $30k, it's still a great deal. 36k OTD sounds really low for a Touring/Sport. You're talking about getting a nearly $40k car for around $32k.

Edit: If it's a Base/Sport. $30k with TTL comes out to around $32,500 (($30k+$600+$500)+8%tax). Still significantly cheaper than $36k OTD.

Their is always a buyer. Always. If I don't get a price I still own the car. It is no biggie. I would just like that extra space in the garage.

Check your math. 8% of 30k is $2400 alone. My sales tax is 8.75%. I was in the buyer's situation in Feb when I bought my 12. Plenty of used Zs in the area, but I chose new considering it's a 370z with no history and all the fixes that the 2012 model has.

The dealer is giving a fair price and making this easy. I see this as an open door for him. In 4-5 months the car will be 2 years old and they won't give 29k. He'll take a loss either way.

I know he'd rather hear..."list it privately, someone will pay 34k". Maybe so...one born every minute.

Sorry. Typo. I meant 30k with ttl included already. Around the number the dealer was offering.

I understand your point. But If someone paid cash I am sure I can ease the tax pain for them with out putting up any red flags. Lets say I got lucky and sold it with the Gold Preferred warranty for 31000. I would walk away with less than a G in monetary loses. Since I have owned the car since April of 2011 I think I can live with that loss. Again, and free up some garage space.

Another thought would be try and push the dealer to 29500 and cash in my Gold Preferred Warranty.

Thanks all for your input. I think it is time to either fish or continue to cut bait.

Good job. It did not take all that long to net an extra $2250.
