Default Trade In

I bought a 09 370z Cert Pre Owned back in March. Long story short Ive decided that I might want to get into a different vehicle. Which means the possibility of the trade in game. As much as I love the Z, it just isnt comfortable enough for me to deal with as a DD.

I basically have a 09 Base, 7AT. Pretty much 100% clean inside and out. Dealer serviced. All tires have 85-90% thread if not a little more, all matching of course. All maintaince is up to date.

What should I be looking for, for a trade in value? There is a wide array of pricing on all the sites. Ive heard of some numbers which I thought were especially low, considering Ive seen cars with more mileage than what I have, same options/year posted for 9K more than the number I was told.

Location plays a huge part in what you can expect to get for it. Plus, you have to take into consideration the price of the car you're trading for. A lot of dealers like to play the shell game. They give you a good trade value and screw you on the car you're buying or vise versa. Make sure you know the value of the car you're looking at as well as you know your own.

I traded my 350z in for the 370z. I got $14,200 for the trade and the 370 at 300 over invoice (it was new). That's a pretty good deal since the KBB value on my 350 was actually closer to $13,500.

If you have a smart phone, download the KBB app. It's a great tool when you're shopping for used cars. GL

how many miles on your trade? are you getting another Nissan? There are a few things that will play into the trade number, but I can offer some guidance with a little more info!

Wow I cant believe I missed out on the mileage part. 39K, Im the second owner. Not sure which vehicle Im going to jump into next. If its a Nissan, more than likely a 3.5 Altima or Maxima. If not, then there are a wide variety of non-nissan vehicles Im interested in.

Keep in mind if you trade a car in for a new one from the dealer, you need to include the sales tax (if your location imposes sales tax) saving you would get from the trade-in value.

Not earth shaking..but it helps !
