Guys give me your opinion on this, I currently bought also 09 370Z MB 6speed Sport Touring 22,617miles at a dealership in IA. I offered them 27K OTD. But now I have to pay the Registration, and title fees, etc. The dealer sent my money back only for the tax . They cant process the tax and the rest, reason being they are out of state. Asking or advertise price was $26,499. The dealer said I can return the car. What do you think I should do? I want them to pay the Reg.and fees, and the under tax that thet estimated.

What does your paperwork document for title and registrations fees, taxes, this is what i would check, if it comes down to how you feel about the deal, by all means take the car back, if the car makes you happy and you are willing to take the $300-400 dollar hit for reg and title then keep it

I feel like,I was being deceived after the sale.the salesman told me when I was dealing with him on the phone, that I will receive the L plate in a week after the sale.I like the car, that is why I don't know what to do.I'm not sure if the price is fair?

Too much its better off to buy new, just got a 2012 manual and sport package for $34k plus tax and fees, $36,800 OTD. Dealer mark up on 370z is 9.6% off MSRP including dealer hold back of around $950.

I think 27k is a little high for a 09 with close to 23k miles on it. However, if it is a matter of paying a couple hundred more dollars to keep the car, and you like the car, I say just pay it and be done with it.

Yeah thats their way of trying to make it seem like you are getting a better deal than you are actually getting.

Regardless, please do update on what happens.

If its exactly what you want, keep it. If it isn't look for another.

See if they'll throw in an extend warranty - that way they can meet you halfway.

$29800 is way too much for the car that is full retail, if you are smart you never pay more than the trade in value for a used car, because it is a well known fact that dealers never really ever pay more than THE WHOLESALE PRICE for a used car when it is traded, unless it is a very low mileage car or a collector item etc.

These are the values for this 370Z 2009 touring

Retail $29,800
Private party - $27,000
trade in -$24,300
wholesale -$21,300

They key thing to remember here is that kellybluebook and edmunds used to list the actual dealer wholesale cost of a used car, but they dropped that figure and replaced it with a private party sale price. The factor for determining the actual whole cost of what a dealer paid for the car is to look at the range between all for prices, the example above shows a $3000 price spread between each of the upper figures. Now take $3000 spread and subtract it for the Trade in price of $24,300 - $3000 = $21,300 actual dealer cost.

The true cost of what you should pay for this car is between the wholesale and trade in price, $22,300 would actually be a good deal on this car. Dealer makes a $1000 profit which is more than enough.

The important thing to remember is that if for some reason you had to sell the car the very next day on a used car or a left over is that no dealer is going to give you more than the wholesale value to take it off your hands.

This is some of the dirty little secrets dealers don't want consumers to know.
