It's on the way to the dealer now, they have offered invoice pricing. - About 3600 off MSRP - anybody have thoughts on what is on the backend to the dealer? They have to have more room in this if they are selling at invoice.

Usually dealers selling at invoice are breaking even, what they payed for the car is what they are selling it for.

You will not exactly know what the exact invoice price really is, there are hold backs, stupid ad money and other crap tacked on. Their actual invoice price is cheaper than what they advertise.
A good start is using amex zag or true car website google those. Will give you a base and you should be able to get a bit lower.

That's pretty much what they took off mine this past weekend. Good luck!

You must not know what invoice price is then. It’s the price the dealer would have paid for the actual car. So if they are breaking even, i.e not making any profit off the car, then they are selling it for their invoice price, or what they paid for the car. This is a usual occurrence, as the dealer doesn’t want to loose money by selling it under invoice. MSRP on the other hand is the price that the automaker (In this case Nissan) wants it sold at, but the dealer is giving the OP a break and taking that much off, so indeed that is a good discount.

There's MSRP, then invoice, then thier cost, then the holdback.. add in delivery, add in ad fees... it's crazy.

Check truecar.com, edmunds.com and I think Consumer Reports does car pricing too (for a fee). If you are at the dealership talking numbers without looking at these sites first then you are putting the cart ahead of the horse....

You must not know how much dealers actually pay for a car.
