Yeah I would like to know as well, have heard only good things about carmax, even the vehicle I purchased from them was clean...

but then again there are exceptions.

I checked Carmax in my area and they had 3 40th Anniversary models.
Had to shut off the computer and go to bed so I'd break the urge to go look at one.

Alright I'll let you guys know, latest by Friday, sent a text out to my sales consultant yesterday and said that the car would be here between wed-fri. Hopefully everything checks out fine.

@Treesemdyzee: haha yea, Carmax has ok deals that I've seen, if this deal goes through my z was priced at 24899 with 12k miles

zeddreaming 12-02-2011 09:10 PM

Any update? I am courious to see how it went.

sz34 12-03-2011 08:51 AM

None so far, the sales consultant says the cars eta got moved to the 5th, but he also said it can get here anytime before that, so anxiously waiting

Good luck, definitely go in person to look at it! Don't pull the trigger if it's not perfect at carmax has a decent stock of 370z's and only going to get better most likely. I found a 350 roadster a couple of years ago at carmax that was exactly what I wanted, drove 3.5 hrs to buy it and in person the car was a mess. The alignment was out of whack, the clutch was slipping, dings and paint chips and a smelly interior. Usually they are very well run stores but it seems there are a few bummers. Keep us up to date!

I think you're close to this one...looks like a killer deal especially since it only has like 7k miles if you look at the odo pics!

TreeSemdyZee 12-06-2011 07:15 PM

I swear. All of the used Anniversary models must be at Carmax.

Beware of Carmax! I purchased two cars from them in the past ... BOTH had hidden problems. I even purchased a warranty from Carmax that covered NOTHING! I would never purchase another car from Carmax and I would send the same warning to anyone who asked ... friends don't let friends buy from Carmax ... EVER!!! Sorry to put a further damper on your exciting car experience.

I guess everyone's experience is different, I personally had no problems with them, and neither did a buddy of mine.

Best thing about them is the no hassle, however their financing rates do suck!

I've had decent experience with carmax too. Sometimes their prices are very good and sometimes not. It just varies with different models. Late model Nissans/Infiniti seem to be their sweet spot. (thanks depretiation!) If you were looking at a 3 year old Honda Fit I'd tell you to avoid carmax!! Just after the disaster in Japan, carmax was milking the situation by selling 2 year old Fits for 20 grand, about 2 grand more than msrp for a new one!

Just go through a credit union for easy financing. My local credit union is currently running a promotion for 1.9 for up to 84 months! Crazy cheap car loans. And I've found the credit unions to be much more forgiving if you slip up than the big banks like Chase and so on.

Yea I'm going through Carmax and they gave me 8% but I understand why though, my credit is really light because I just started up my credit not to long ago. But payments for this particular z is 423 a month, which is pretty good
