Yep. PG. Just bad pictures. Look at the color of the sky and other surroundings.

TreeSemdyZee 11-26-2011 08:53 PM

This should be a little closer.

Okay if you want to be 100% sure then just check the sticker on the drivers side door jam for the color code. PG=K51....that is what my PG sticker states.

sz34 11-27-2011 08:55 AM

Yea I'll check it out, the pictures were really bad on the site, but it most likely is a pg. So excited but it's taking a while for the car to get here. Paid the transfer fee last Monday. Has anyone ever dealt with Carmax transfers before?

nmjaxx9 11-27-2011 09:42 AM

Carmax is pretty reputable, you shouldn't have any problems with them. One of my buddy's bought an older maxima (09) from them a while back. They got it to him within two days, he said he went to see it when they brought it in, and they used a professional carrier, ( had it inside the box truck, not just the regular flatbed, or 18 wheeler carrier) so I wouldn't worry if they take a few extra days you should be in good hands.

sz34 11-27-2011 10:17 AM

For sure! Thanks for the info! Can't wait!

zeddreaming 11-27-2011 03:57 PM

where did this car come from? From Schaumburg carmax or another in Illinois?

I looked at this one. Sorry to say the body is beat! Car doors dinged like crazy, big bolt dent on the back. Front hood is all chipped up then covered with an off match paint.

Kinda disspointed that carmax gave this car an OK for their approval.

ZForce 11-27-2011 10:51 PM

Ouch... if it is the car ^ spoke of, I would ask for new photos (closeups) before pulling the trigger. Could be a beater. Hope your transfer fee is refundable.

sz34 11-28-2011 01:23 AM

yea it is from schaumburg! are you really serious about all those exterior problems? wow i feel really sad right now. they showed pictures of the back and hood it didnt really show any dents or door dings O_O

Sorry to say yes, I thought the exterior was in awful shape. I thought the same thing but when I went to go look it was in bad shape. If you look close at the hood when you go see it the paint that was used to touch up is a different shade. There were multiple dings on the doors, bad ones. My guess it was a city car that sat outside which caused a lot damage. Also just the feeling of the car as if was not cared for.

Not to be a salesman, but if you are looking seriously now I might be selling mine. I searched for 4 months hard for the right one. It is a 09 fully loaded mt/sport/touring/navi package silver with black interior with 8.5 k on it. It is in mind condition not a dent on it. I might need to sell for a change in a job which would require me to drive a lot more and will need something more flexible than a sports car.

sz34 11-28-2011 10:31 AM

Dang alright I'll check it out when it gets here, Im pretty sure I'm gonna get my transfer fee back because they didn't add any of those descriptions you are saying on the page of the car. If not I'll probably go straight to BBB. That's really dissappointing.

Yeah I would like to know as well, have heard only good things about carmax, even the vehicle I purchased from them was clean...

but then again there are exceptions.

TreeSemdyZee 11-29-2011 09:03 PM

I checked Carmax in my area and they had 3 40th Anniversary models.
Had to shut off the computer and go to bed so I'd break the urge to go look at one.

sz34 11-29-2011 10:30 PM

Alright I'll let you guys know, latest by Friday, sent a text out to my sales consultant yesterday and said that the car would be here between wed-fri. Hopefully everything checks out fine.

@Treesemdyzee: haha yea, Carmax has ok deals that I've seen, if this deal goes through my z was priced at 24899 with 12k miles

zeddreaming 12-02-2011 09:10 PM

Any update? I am courious to see how it went.

sz34 12-03-2011 08:51 AM

None so far, the sales consultant says the cars eta got moved to the 5th, but he also said it can get here anytime before that, so anxiously waiting

jabrother 12-05-2011 09:04 PM

Good luck, definitely go in person to look at it! Don't pull the trigger if it's not perfect at carmax has a decent stock of 370z's and only going to get better most likely. I found a 350 roadster a couple of years ago at carmax that was exactly what I wanted, drove 3.5 hrs to buy it and in person the car was a mess. The alignment was out of whack, the clutch was slipping, dings and paint chips and a smelly interior. Usually they are very well run stores but it seems there are a few bummers. Keep us up to date!

jabrother 12-05-2011 09:11 PM

I think you're close to this one...looks like a killer deal especially since it only has like 7k miles if you look at the odo pics!

TreeSemdyZee 12-06-2011 07:15 PM

I swear. All of the used Anniversary models must be at Carmax.

Heidi 12-07-2011 01:01 PM

Beware of Carmax! I purchased two cars from them in the past ... BOTH had hidden problems. I even purchased a warranty from Carmax that covered NOTHING! I would never purchase another car from Carmax and I would send the same warning to anyone who asked ... friends don't let friends buy from Carmax ... EVER!!! Sorry to put a further damper on your exciting car experience.

I guess everyone's experience is different, I personally had no problems with them, and neither did a buddy of mine.

zeddreaming 12-07-2011 08:03 PM

Best thing about them is the no hassle, however their financing rates do suck!

I've had decent experience with carmax too. Sometimes their prices are very good and sometimes not. It just varies with different models. Late model Nissans/Infiniti seem to be their sweet spot. (thanks depretiation!) If you were looking at a 3 year old Honda Fit I'd tell you to avoid carmax!! Just after the disaster in Japan, carmax was milking the situation by selling 2 year old Fits for 20 grand, about 2 grand more than msrp for a new one!

Just go through a credit union for easy financing. My local credit union is currently running a promotion for 1.9 for up to 84 months! Crazy cheap car loans. And I've found the credit unions to be much more forgiving if you slip up than the big banks like Chase and so on.

Yea I'm going through Carmax and they gave me 8% but I understand why though, my credit is really light because I just started up my credit not to long ago. But payments for this particular z is 423 a month, which is pretty good

I really hope its not the one I saw. My salesman told me the same thing. I never went back and felt so dissapointed. To bad for him I was committed to finding a great condition 370z or 5.0. Never went back.

I am interested to see what your impressions are and if I am that anal about a cars condition.

sz34 12-13-2011 01:21 AM

Alright guys, took delivery today, and I can say it was not what I expected. The car is very clean with the exception that there is a minor scratch on the bumper next to the license plate but it is unoticable unless u stare at it a long time. Overall I am very happy, it took about an hour to sign papers and they cleaned the car off pretty nicely, will post up pics as soon as the rain stops :)

nmjaxx9 12-13-2011 08:43 AM

Nice glad everything worked out well.
