Wanted your guys opinion on the situation
Basically I bought a new Black 370z Touring w/ Navigation the monday just passed. Paying $34,600.00 on it, got a called from the saleman today that the car has arrived and ready for picked up. Went to the dealership to check out the car. The car have 500miles on the odometer, asked saleman why it has so much mileage on it for a brand new car. He answered me that the car was located in georgia and it was driving here for delivery. On the purchase day he didn't even tell me how was the car gonna be transport, stupid of me for not asking, me assume transport by flatbed. On the car I found 1 rock chip on hook, minor scratch on 5 or 6 different places. He said He gonna take care of all that get the car repaint and new clear coat. So my question is should I just go head and take the car or just leave it and lose my deposit. Thank in advance

500 miles and rock chips on a "new" car??? That's just pure BS.
Tell him to :gtfo2: and demand for a car with less than 20 miles on it. |
Find another dealership...
|
No way in hell would I accept that car! No one buys a brand new car that has to be re-painted!
500 miles on it , that's a Used car, not New! |
"No way in hell would I accept that car! No one buys a brand new car that has to be re-painted! 500 miles on it , that's a Used car, not New!"
I was thinking the same damn thing excuse my language. And saleman said I'm going to lose $1000 on deposit money. I'm not gonna pay them a dime ****. |

All that and PLUS what about proper break-in and not driving long distances at constant speeds??? That's pretty sh!tty...
|
The dealer is screwed if he tries to sell it to another buyer as it has 500 miles on it as new. Check your state's laws on vehicle deposits as he may not have a leg to stand on and have to return your deposit as I believe the courts would rule in your favor that 500 miles is not a new car and he did not tell you, although you did not ask, how he would be transporting the vehicle.
|
You paid for a new car - that car is not new. Dealer has defaulted on the contract.
Sue his arse, or get a great deal of money off. Seriously - It seems that you have done the right thing by telling him that the car is unacceptable. The next step is to tell him that you will accept it if he reduces the price by $xxxx. |

seriously... that's lame as sh!t...

Thanx you for your guys opinions. Yea, I went back told the salemen that I will not get the car, even if he lowered the priced down. All I wanted is to have a brand spanking new car deliever to me with 20 miles or less on the odometer. Or else I just wanted my money back, also I told him that I shouldn't have to paid the $1000 deposit b/c he did not disclose how the car would be transport and also did not tell me the actual mileage on the car before transport. I did request for the mileage of the car at signing but failing to give me. He then went to his general manager, I told his general manager what I wanted. General Manager going to order me a brand new 370z and have it shipped to the dealer. General Manager going to call the nissan rep and then tell me the exact date when the car gonna come. What y'all think about how this situation being handle?
|
How long will it take for the next one to arrive?
You may be better off taking your money to a different dealer. ...as they have agreed to get you another car, they cannot refuse to give you the deposit back if you want it, because they've already admitted that they are at fault. |
dont accept it!!! HELL NOO!! i say you talk to a lawyer and file a lawsuit against them. that propostorous. thats a used car. now if they drop the price 5 or 6 grand then thats your decision. but there is no way in hell ill pay all that for a new car..tell him to refund you your money and :gtfo2:
|
+1 dealers are huritng now a days... buyers market... so just take it elsewhere n sue if they dont give you your $$ back... they might give you one hell of a deal
|
not to bring in another thread... but there is the 'new delivery odometer miles'. and it was asked, that if told beforehand that the car would be driven from one dealership to another, approx 200-300 miles would it be acceptable or pay $500 for a flatbed transport. and almost every1 said, get it driven. obv the $500 transport wasnt brought up here, but you all make it sound like you would NEVER have the car driven from one dealer to the other? as that is my situation. no dealer within 100 miles of me has the car, and it's either 256 miles, or 342 for the cars to be transported, or $500..
|
Don't do it. Go to another dealer. Don't let them scam you on that. Sales person would do, tell, and say everything, I mean, EVERYTHING to convince you, that's their job and necessity. They would also imagine that the car was delivered from the moon if they have to do it.
Be a smart buyer. |

I'd would not wait, I got d*cked around by the local dealer so instead of dealing with the hassle drove 1 state over and got the car I wanted. Think about it the break in period is the first twelve hundred miles do you real want someone else driving it around for you for half that?

not a bad idea though, didn't really think of that. But with my work schedule, i don't think that it would be feasible to do that. will keep it in mind though. |

Do you even have proof of how it was delivered? A lot of these dealers are giving out cars while they try to get loans. If they can't get the loan funded, they take back the car, often with several hundred miles on it. It's still technically a new car, but they don't want to tell you some regular joe was driving your car, so they typically tell one of two lies:
1. Delivery 2. The GM/sales manager/other big wig was driving it, but took VERY good care of it. |
well, like I said before I didn't took delievery of the car. I went with another dealership and trying to have them order me a Black w/ persimmon leather, Touring, Sport Package, and Navigation. They said they will let me have it at invoice which is $37,083 + $1112.49tax + $404.51Doc. Fee = 38,600 is that a good deal or not?
With the deal I also have a trade-In 08 350z Touring w/ Navigtion 7,800miles. They will take trade in for $24,000, I bought the car for $ 27,000 so loosing 3K. what do you guys think of the combination ? :ugh2: Thank you in advance. If everyone say is good deal then I will try to close the deal with them today. |

Update on my 370z Order. Well, I took my money to another dealership "Modern Nissan" people are more friendly, courteous and better to deal with. Negotiated on the price down to $37,288.00 O.T.D 370z Black w/ Persimmon Leather, Navigation, Sport Package, and Touring. Basically the car is fully loaded with all and every options is available out there. General Manager told me the car will arrived around beginning of August or Late July.
|
this is bullcrap. miles is okay, but the paint and the scratches is not. unless they fix it before you pick the car, it's a no deal.

Your tax and title were only $876? That doesn't sound right. Am I missing something?
|
I don't know either. But the general manager and finance manager told me that's the final price include title and tax. Definitely no complain on my part ;). I have all the paper work in my possesion here.

BTW: sounds like you got a great deal! |

I had to order as well, as the 370Z I want was not available in the Mid-west. I basically ordered the same car as you did, Persimmon, 6MT, Touring+Sport+Nav, except for the color, I went for PG. I used the VPP claim number as offered by Robert_Nash on this forum. I don't have the details with me now, but it is about 37.000 ex. tax and doc. fee, but including delivery. So basically invoice price including free delivery. And now the hard part starts, waiting until it's delviered. But at least I'm glad you were quoted a similar delivery time, makes me more confident the dealer wasn't BS-ing me.
