Hmm...I would probably work him down a bit. I got the illuminated kick plates thrown in for free, since I wasn't really interested in them but the car on the lot came with them. $37,500 for me on a Touring with Sport & Nav, along with mats, splash guards and the kick plates. It took a bit of heated wrangling, along with some advice from this forum, but they caved in.

I didn't go for the VPP because after pricing out the options and doing the math, the quote I received was basically the same thing. I think it was off by about $200. Given the convenience of just walking in and getting the car an hour later, I went with the quote.

I'm looking at your exact car but in red (and one in yellow). The yellow one costs slightly more since they charge more for that color, but essentially I'm looking to pay exactly what you did.
I'll be using this thread as a possible resource during my negotiation if they try to say I'm talking crazy. The only other variable for me though is what I can get on my 2007 G35S trade. Need $25k otherwise it doesn't make financial sense since my car is a lease and has 15 more months. If I get any more negative past $25k it gets close to costing me the same as just keeping the car. Wish me luck. |

Good luck, U235! You're going to love it! Sales are definitely down so you have the upper hand. The only difficulty I had was availability. After calling half a dozen dealers, they all said the same thing. For the car with the options that I wanted (touring with sport and nav in a manual), there were only 3 on the west coast. So I had the choice of a blue, a silver or a yellow and that was it. But they were anxious to deal and I like the blue, so it all worked out fine in the end.
Post some pix when you get the car!

good luck in your search U235. i had the same experience as ocfoilist. There were only 2 that matched what i wanted on the mid-east coast sea board. the dealer will try to use as a way to stick to their price quote. Don't agree to it. Some other dealer can always exchange the car from the dealer who has the z. I got $1k off just by going to another dealer and told them about the location of the car. They took me down and I drove the new z from the dealer who had it (about 100m) away. It was a great way to get started on the z performance

I just purchased my touring for 33k (includind destination) which included the aero kit, mats, illuminated kick plate, factory tint, nitrogen tire fill, and splash guards. It came in under invoice, and I was able to talk them into more for my trade. Good deals can definitely be had right now.
Nice car (and price), you will enjoy! |

Are you asking me about the $37,500 price? If so, I simply called one of the dealers and asked them to make an offer, while mentioning some of the deals that other forum members had already posted. He came back with $37,126, no questions asked. I didn't eventually buy it from that dealer, as he was pretty far away and could not end up getting the exact car I wanted.
So I took the email with his confirmed price to a local Nissan dealer and demanded that they price match it. We wrangled back and forth for a while but settled on $37,426. In the end, I gave them $200 to transport the car from another dealer about and hour and a half away, plus $100 as a compromise (they originally wouldn't budge at anything lower than $38,500). Again, I just presented a number of cases from this forum of negotiated prices and patiently refused to budge (except for the extra $100 in the end). It was a funky story because the car that they originally went to pick up for me wasn't exactly what I wanted. So they found me another one that had what I had already bought, plus the illuminated kick plates. They just gave me that car for the same price.

Hi everyone
I spent days trying to find this config in Platinum Graphite or silver with black interior in the Philly region. I found it in silver about a half hour away and the best price I got was $38,100. I really wanted the PG and also wanted to think about it so I told them I would get back to them the next day. After reading other peoples buying experiences on the forum and locating a PG with the same config using Nissan's excellent inventory search on their website, I emailed the dealership which was a little over an hour away with an offer of $37,000. It was the last day of the month which we all know doesn't hurt. Plus I was turning in my leased Mini, which meant no trade to complicate things and also told them I was approved with tier 1 credit by the other dealership. I laid it out as simple and painless as I could. A simple yes or no scenario. I got an email the morning or April 30 and the sales manager countered my offer with $36,999! Well, I called him about 5 minutes and told him to prep the car, which I picked up later that night! I not only got the car I wanted, I got it at a great price. I could not have done it without the great posts from all my fellow Z enthusiasts, and some good timing! |

Good news! Connell just refunded me $200, which was added to the car to pick it up from another dealership. Since I eventually purchased the car at Connell, I recouped the surcharge. So $37,226 was the final price for me.
I highly recommend the dealership. Even with the complications with my purchase, I am very happy with their service. ![]()
