Yes, but Lou visits competing dealers late at night with his crew and flatbed so it takes him a bit longer to fill his inventory.

I don't mind waiting a few more months but i'm just hoping they aren't released after new years.

Same here man. But, i just hope they take their time and maintain a safe, healthy, work environment considering the devastation that Japan has suffered.

Working through a local dealership to factory order a nismo 2012 coupe. So far they haven't had any luck but they are checking with Nissan every Monday. Will keep you posted.

Once I am able to order, they say it will take 8-10 weeks to get the car.

Edit: Also, in case you were curious, the official word from Nissan is that the typhoon has severely impacted production of both the 370 and GTR so if you want to order one, I suggest you order through a dealership direct from the factory as the 2012 models will likely be scarce (especially if the economy continues to tank)

typhoon?

I thought that at least for the 370z, the beginning of the model year coincides with the beginning of the calendar year (i.e. the first 2012's will arrive dec 2011/jan 2012).

this is true for non-seasonal states.

So i'm a little confused. So I'm planning to get a 2011 Nismo. Should I get one now, or wait until the end of the year when dealerships want to get them off the lot? Or do you think I won't be able to get one because the production will cease from the tsunami? So if production will be scarce for 2012's, does that mean they will be worth more if you get it? I'm in Iraq now, so not really a rush for me to get one now. Thanks.

Reading this now I'm really confused because my dealership told me to expect the new models to roll in at the end of august. I found that kind of early but it was the manager himself that told me. In the end, I believe the forum first.

This is consistent with what two sizeable local dealerships have told me but they both added that the quake/tsunami may push the date back.

I think this thread fits here at least for some info.
