Anyone know when the 2012 370z models will be released?

As the title says, any of you have any idea when they should be released? I went to the dealer today and was told the 2011 had not even been released yet. Apparently everything is slowing down because of the disasters that hit Japan.

shadoquad 04-05-2011 02:52 PM

lol is it already that time? I guess this is the first 2012 thread, but it's not even been a year since the 2011 threads. LZL, if last year is any indicator, you won't see a 2012 until the very end of this year, possibly not until 2012. There wasn't an early release on 2011 models, and I expect that to repeat. But I could be wrong as well.

MyZ4U2C 04-05-2011 02:52 PM

2011 have been out for some time, rumors are that 2011 may be halted, Have no idea about the 2012 though...I would suspect towards the fall or winter

Lope[Z]Lebron 04-05-2011 03:00 PM

I am a very, very sad man at the moment.

FuszNissan 04-05-2011 03:01 PM

My first 2011 Coupe arrived last week.....so I would expect it to be a while.

I heard the 2012 were supposed to come with a slight body change, not a dramatic one but a change none the less.

Well, there should be some released photos by the end of the year, I'd bet. And then you can decide whether or not it's worth the wait.

Red__Zed 04-05-2011 03:17 PM

Probably a good while.

Montez 04-05-2011 03:33 PM

Most likely its going to be the "typical" Nissan mid cycle changes.........New headlights, tailights, new steering wheel, restyled guages, new rims, slightly restyled seats, new bumpers and maybe a "few" more horsepower.

Yes, but Lou visits competing dealers late at night with his crew and flatbed so it takes him a bit longer to fill his inventory.

Lope[Z]Lebron 04-06-2011 07:55 AM

I don't mind waiting a few more months but i'm just hoping they aren't released after new years.

Same here man. But, i just hope they take their time and maintain a safe, healthy, work environment considering the devastation that Japan has suffered.

Working through a local dealership to factory order a nismo 2012 coupe. So far they haven't had any luck but they are checking with Nissan every Monday. Will keep you posted.

Once I am able to order, they say it will take 8-10 weeks to get the car.

Edit: Also, in case you were curious, the official word from Nissan is that the typhoon has severely impacted production of both the 370 and GTR so if you want to order one, I suggest you order through a dealership direct from the factory as the 2012 models will likely be scarce (especially if the economy continues to tank)

krzykanuk 06-23-2011 11:50 PM

typhoon?

dmhenderson 06-24-2011 07:17 AM

lol tsunami. Sorry it was late when I posted that.

I thought that at least for the 370z, the beginning of the model year coincides with the beginning of the calendar year (i.e. the first 2012's will arrive dec 2011/jan 2012).

this is true for non-seasonal states.

dpirch531 06-24-2011 08:48 PM

So i'm a little confused. So I'm planning to get a 2011 Nismo. Should I get one now, or wait until the end of the year when dealerships want to get them off the lot? Or do you think I won't be able to get one because the production will cease from the tsunami? So if production will be scarce for 2012's, does that mean they will be worth more if you get it? I'm in Iraq now, so not really a rush for me to get one now. Thanks.

UNKNOWN_370 06-26-2011 12:09 PM

Reading this now I'm really confused because my dealership told me to expect the new models to roll in at the end of august. I found that kind of early but it was the manager himself that told me. In the end, I believe the forum first.

This is consistent with what two sizeable local dealerships have told me but they both added that the quake/tsunami may push the date back.

Bonzo 06-27-2011 06:58 PM

I think this thread fits here at least for some info.
