Good Price?
Went in today to look at a new, white '11 Z. Base w/ Sport for $32,049.
Do you guys think I should bite? Any thoughts or input is appreciated. |
good price
This looks like invoice.
Not sure where you are, but Ed Martin is the dealer in my area, so you could compare there. |
Its not a terrible deal, but you can definitely do better. If its an automatic, I would go no higher than 31.5k and if it is a manual, I would go no higher than 31k.
|
It is for a manual. I'm located in Jersey/Delaware. I'll have to see what else I can do.

A sport is like 34,4 34,6. I think you got a really good deal there, the only other thing I see them taking off that pirce is dealer buy back, but they rarely do that. I got my Z brand new for about a grand below invoice but thats because I was good friends with him and the Z was the third brand new car I bought from him. |
Well, that's reassuring. We all originally thought it was a good price (a doctor I work with knew the owner) but I wanted to see what people thought on here.

Base w/ Manual: $28,099 Sport Package: $2,602 Total: $30,701 That's not including floor mats and little things like that, so it probably comes out to ~$31k. That's why I said go not higher than $31k because that is invoice. If you find a good dealer you could probably get 500 below invoice. |
comparison pricing
Don't forget dealer holdback. That 4 or 5 hundred is going to be paid on a new Z.
Invoice is about 31 grand, but once you add the seemingly unavoidable little options and aforementioned dealer holdback, this is a very good deal. In the real world the best you can do is shop regionally for the best price. |

Nissan has raised there prices on the Z once again for 11, which is what he is looking at. The Z no longer starts under 30k anymore. |
^ Didn't know that, so thanks for the info
I doubt the price went up that much, but it sounds like the OP is getting a pretty fair deal. |
Yeah, it sucks. I really want to go for it but the monthly payment might be $40-50 out of my range. I know that's not a big number, but with what I'm making, it adds up.
|
Just get a new 2010 then. Same car, but will be a good 2-3k cheaper! You should at least consider it :tiphat:
|
I actually wanted to do that, I honestly don't want an '11 if I don't have to. But, unfortunately, there aren't many around here. My dream was the Touring w/ Nav, but I obviously couldn't afford that (if I couldn't afford Base/Sport) but I found this..
Cars for Sale: 2009 Nissan 370Z in East Brunswick, NJ 08816: Coupe Details - 292594181 - AutoTrader.com That's in my price range if they give me 13K for my '08 Si. What do you guys think? The only concern is the 1 reported "rear impact accident." I understand you can report even the slightest fender benders but any accident is sketchy. Luckily, nothing that important in the back. Do you think I should be concerned? |
here is WA
I bought my car in WA.
2011 370z sports pakage 6 speed maunal trans splash guard. tax was 9.6%??? i don't remember exactly but it's about that OTD price was 34,300, only car price was 31,000. dealer's invoice was about 32,214. i think you should pay for it under 31k. and include floor mat when you deal. cause it's very useful! i bought floor mat after buying the car.. so i paid another 85bucks for it!!!! |
Yeah, well, it's looking like used is more in my ballpark right now. It may allow me to get the touring with navi like I truly want, as well.
|
My guarantee'd price through USAA car buying service is 31,321 for a car in my area (Middle GA). With Taxes (7%) plus a retarded 599 doc few and few others Im looking at roughly 34k OTD. Im just wondering for the daily driver with a few mods is the sports package really worth it.
|
Not if you want an auto. If you drive stick, I'd say it's a must. The Rev-Match technology is phenomenal. Plus, you get Rays which go for at least 2K for a set. The package itself is about 2K. Well worth it.
|
I just saw one for sale (it got sold already) 2009 for 29k that included sport/touring w/nav and it had about 30k miles; THINK they were selling it as certified. not bad
|
I found 2 Black Cherry 2010's, Touring, MT, Sport Package. No Nav, but you can get a nice aftermarket stereo w/ nav and bluetooth for 750 or so.
Anyways, I figure you can probably get them down to ~$31k. If you are interested, give me a PM and I will provide more details. |
I appreciate you guys lookin' out for some well priced Z's for me, but I'm (extremely) OCD when it comes to my car. I hate buying used, and would usually refuse to, but in this case I might have to. But, if I do, I want it below 10K miles. I want to know that every chip, scratch, dent, etcetera is from ME and not somebody else. Haha, I'm bad.
I'm going to drive to see what I can get that one I posted (AutoTrader link) to. If I can get 13K for my Si (aftermarket parts killed me) I can afford it. Also, I'm only into the Pearl White and Mont Blue. |
If you are buying used, I can guarantee that the car will have rock chips UNLESS the previous owner clearbra-ed it! But honestly, I think you can have an 09 or even 10 for Touring + Sport for the price range you are looking for! Or you might want to revisit the option of owning a Z, when your finances are in order (I dont know the situation). Id rather be financially stable than buy a car and not be able to pay for the long-run costs. I know the latter seems hard to accept, but its something only an outsider looking in can tell you! Good luck!

To me, it's a realistic dream when I'm 21 and have no bills. ****, my parents are even saying buy it since I have no bills (beings that'll all change after school). I've accepted since last August (first time I looked) that I may not be able to get it in "my price range" and that's okay. I'm going to look at that one on Autotrader and if I can't afford it, then I'm done til' my Si is paid off. |
new model year
1 last thing. The new Z is out next fall. If you can wait, you'll be able to pick.
|
Well guys, after the extensive amount of mods I've done to my Si, and losing value, I was offered a great price for it when I went and visited that Autotrader Ad Z. I was offered 14K for my Si (still owe 8K) and got the Z for $29,999.
I'm officially a Z owner! :D (as long as the loan goes through, of course) Got the price to where I wanted (monthly payment wise) and the thing has every option available for the Touring. Cannot wait to get my money back in order and start modding like I did my Si. |

Used, but it looks great. I wouldn't have taken it unless it did because I'm so picky. Only 7,3XX miles.
I have to wait for the loan go through (praying) and then I pick it up Saturday. I'll be sure to post pictures (: Just a question though, the plate is drilled into the bumper (Jersey rules) but I don't use it. What do you think would be cheaper, getting it filled and repainted or (if possible) getting a new bumper, pre painted? |
If you want a body kit, don't get a new bumper.
I didn't see a front bumper price (and you might could find used from someone else installing a body kit) but it looks like new comes unpainted so I think that would cost more than filling in the holes. |
I don't want a body kit. I just want the holes filled, the right way, not with plugs. Didn't know if anyone had any links to where I could perhaps look at a new bumper or anything.. I'll run through the for sale threads.

I'm in for pics |
haha, I understand it sounds sketchy but the guy got rid of it because he had a kid on the way. They had it originally priced at $34K and it didn't sell, so for Presidents Weekend they set it at $29K and still no buyers (it's snowy up here in Jersey) so.. I reaped the benefits. But, thank you! :tiphat:
