Well, every dealer is different on deposits. But yes they will want some kind of commitment to order a car. Typically the deposit goes towards writing down the sale price.

It should be a refundable deposit and 10% seems excessive based on some other threads and discussions here. $500 seems more like it.
My dealer took a personal check for the difference over my trade-in - they just called my bank to verify funds available. |
Does anyone know what is the engine break-in period for 2010 370Z? How many miles and how fast can I go? Thank You
|
The owner's manual was available here but seems to have been moved at Nissan's site.
In any case, here is what it says: During the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km), follow these recommendations to obtain maximum engine performance and ensure the future reliability and economy of your new vehicle. Failure to follow these recommendations may result in shortened engine life and reduced engine performance. - Avoid driving for long periods at constant speed, either fast or slow. Do not run the engine over 4,000 rpm. - Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear. - Avoid quick starts. - Avoid hard braking as much as possible. Of course, some engine builders here recommend driving without constant RPMs or idle but not avoiding high RPM early to improve break-in. |
So I went to a dealer today to check out information on purchasing a 370z and it appears that I cannot order anything from the factory. I can take what's in the dealer inventories and that's it........this totally sucks!

Yeah I am not really sure I am going to be getting this car anymore. I am paying 135 a month in car insurance and the quote Geico gave me states I would be paying 308 a month for the Z.
This really really sux |
Try nationwide if you can. The insurance agent I talked to told me they are strict about driving records and credit history. He also told me they don't go by what kind of car it is, just how much it will cost to replace it. I got off with $517 every 6 months for full coverage at 25 years old which I thought was pretty darn cheap. My current insurer for my old car and my motorcycle wanted nearly $900 every 6 months. Several other insurance agencies quoted me around the 1200 range.

Yeah I did a little bit of math and re-organized bills. I will be able to afford it, and from what I was hearing, some people pay 300 a month for a normal car and I am complaining about 300 for this car :rofl2:
