Just look around there are a lot of dealers sitting on Z's.

None in my neck of the woods. Only one Nissan dealer and they only got one in the last few months and it was pre-sold. Makes it hard to go and test drive one or even to sit in one to see how they are for creature comforts inside. Plus they only get coupes so no roadsters to test out.

From what he told me, they aren't exactly making tons of Z's, but it's mostly the fact that people don't want just base or touring, they want base w/ sports package, or touring w/ sports package, and for some reason nissan is not sending many of those(no idea why, I couldn't imagine buying a Z without the sports pkg, it takes the car to an entirely different level imo). I even remember as he was looking for the car I wanted(pearl white, base w/ sports pkg), he told me he could probably find me a standard base or touring model in that color, but sports pkg would be tough. Maybe one of the dealers on here can comment a bit more for ya.

I've noticed this too and agree with you 100%. Here in WI, there are not many to start with and it seems the only Z's available are fully loaded roadsters, 40th coupes, and base (no sport). And most of those are auto transmissions. There are no base + sport + MTs around anywhere. I know that's the most popular combo but it's not as if dealers had them and they flew off the lot. I talked to 2 dealers that haven't gotten any in that combo and they both even stated that base + sports are very difficult to find.

Part of the problem is also the higher price-tag of the 370z compared to the past 350z.

Exactly what I mean. Even with Corvette, I know there are these national dealers who are the big Corvette places, but how FOUR Chevrolets in my area have 1 or LESS corvettes most of the time makes it nearly impossible to go out and test drive it, really select one, etc. Same with the Z. My dealer who I got my Maxima from said he would "have one for me in 24 hours" and it's no problem, but that's much different than if he had 6 or 7 sitting there that people could come see and test drive and buy. Same with the Acura TL-S at the time, I could only find one on a lot near by. Go look for a Maxima, they have like 15-20 on the lot at times and thats honestly what made buying it so easy....I went in, drove a demo, checked out all the different combos, and signed. Same with an Accord..etc...notice the cars that are best sellers are all over the lots!

The local Nissan dealership to me has about 3 370Z's in stock, all Automatics. 2 Convertibles and 1 Coupe.

They want 42K for the coupe after a market adjusted value of (+$2000).
