09 or 10

Hi,

I am getting a 09 at v good price (sports package)... I am trying to think since its an 09 has it been sitting at the dealer for almost 6 months + ?

If this is the case should I just get a '10 for similar pricing w/out sports package ?

What is your advice?

Thanks,

If it's already june this year, I'd say wait a few more months and see what kind of specials you'll get on a 2010 when the 2011's come out, or perhaps even look at a 2011 yourself...

Really? I thought the next years models usually showed up on lots at the end of Sept/Oct timeframe? Have you looked into going into a dealer and Ordering one specifically?

I have not looked at ordering one specifically... wouldnt that be more $$$? I am hoping to spend < 275xx.

:iagree:

Usually the next year's models start showing up at the end of this year. Generally, this is why it's terrific to shop for a car in Nov/Dec. You can't tell me that the '10 sitting next to the '11 is going for as much. There's a year of depreciation plus the cost in tax to keep it on the lot past '10.

But if you really can't wait past 2 months, that doesn't do you a heap of good.

If you order one, you might be able to get a 2010 for that price at the end of the year...? Look into it, that way you guarantee you can get exactly what you want...

if you're looking for the base with sport package, get the 09 with the bargin price and install your own cabin filter to update to 10. :D

:iagree:

You could get a hell of a deal in a leftover 09! I would not even worry about the cabin filter.

The only other major difference I know of is heated mirrors right? Is that really important to you? If not, sure get the 09, and use the leftover cash for mods...

I'd say get it, and enjoy it. Id rather have it and it be a little more than I need, then not get it and wish I had...

DAMNIT i just realized that when the 2011's come out all of our cars will be rendered obsolete and we will need to buy a new one.

kenchan 06-08-2010 03:35 PM

get modshack's ride! it comes with FREE cabin filter. :D hahaha

DarkPath 06-08-2010 03:35 PM

GET the sports packages... There's a hellava lot to be said for the big brakes, and the 19" wheels and tires... Comparatively the wheels alone KILL the base model 18s... But, if you are going to put on aftermarket wheels no matter what model you get - than it all comes down to brakes and you are back to - Your Call man....

4r3s 06-08-2010 04:12 PM

if its got low mileage and sports package and you can get it for less than 27500 jump on it I think thats a damn good price. Theres no substantial difference from the 09 to 10 that makes the 10 a must have over the 09 imo.

I like the sports package. I think it's a well worth package (unless you're a track junkie)

Mo Money is all I'd suspect!

Jesse_Hunter 06-08-2010 04:43 PM

what about the rumor of 2011 being a hybrid? I know I read it somewhere.....

toxik 06-08-2010 04:45 PM

3rd year model revisions on Nissan/Infinitis are usually just fascia updates, and a few interior upgrades with Stereos etc. I doubt it'll be anything engine related.

Maybe new wheels.

yea thats why i was just kidding around. the 3rd model year is usually no big deal difference. On the altima coupe they changed the grill. Maybe the'll change the fangs or something.

If you're hitting people in the bumpers, it's probably not a problem with the brakes. :icon18:

so the 09 with sports package ended up having 3k miles (W T F?). Could just look at the car and say its driven. The sales guy said it was a demo car that a manager drove for a couple months....

I dont trust this guy now... SHould I give him a 2nd chance? and what should I ask for less if I agree to get the car w/3k miles?

Thanks,

If you buy that demo with 3000 miles on it of god knows who driving it god knows how...........

I suggest you get a hell of a deal on it.

cuzzinz 06-09-2010 11:19 AM

Get the sports package! I am juggling the idea of getting a Z and I decided to get the sports package when the time comes.

The biggest thing that I did not see mentioned in this thread is the limited slip differential.

You can replace wheels, tire, and breaks... pretty simply but something like installing an LSD is a big thing and can very much lead to the voiding of your warranty, or at least part of it, if you install an aftermarket one.

i mean this can depend on how mechanically savvy you are but even then it will cause problems with your warranty...

If the base and the sport came with an LSD that would totally change the game but Nissan knows whats up lol.

Get a low miles 2009 or 2010... save yourself that "rollin off the lot fee" :-D

Thats how I felt... prolly is driven hard... and was almost turned off by the dealer not telling me this on the phone.

XwChriswX 06-09-2010 11:51 AM

I still say best option is wait just a few more months and save some money for a larger down payment/aftermarket mods and get a 2010 when the 11's come out so you can get a great deal on one that you know hasn't been ridden worse than a french prostitute with a mustache

Lazy 06-09-2010 01:12 PM

demo + 3000 miles, dont get it. atleast i wouldnt.
im pretty sure they driven it hard, if they give me a car to drive i would, wouldnt u?

Thanks... I will go with the 09.

holmanyu 06-11-2010 12:59 PM

dont buy the Sport package if you will install body kit.

because there are 2 big holes at the rear trunk. and you cant install the aftermarket spoiler.

jayl 06-15-2010 11:32 AM

got a base 09, and love it!!!!!!!

FuszNissan 06-15-2010 11:40 AM

Congrats!
