Default 09 Touring + Sport. Dealership Owned?

There's a local dealership that has a '09 Touring + Sport, 6MT, with 3,000 miles on it. In the description they say "This vehicle has never been owned by anyone except the dealership. It has only been in service a couple of months, and therefore most of the factory warranty is in effect.".

First off, would I still get 3 years or 36,000 miles, or 3 years and 33,000 miles (or some other variant)? I guess I'm just not sure what they mean by "in service", and how a car that hasn't been sold has 3,000 miles on it. Anything I should look out for?

Also, they're asking $32,988 for it, which by what I've been reading in here, is on the higher end for a 09 with some miles on it. If the car test drives fine and looks good, what point should I start negotiating from? I want to be fair, but I also know that it's nearly 3 model-years old now and has some miles on it.

Thanks!

Translation: "Our customers and salespeople beat the snot out of this car on test drives for 3000 miles"

However since it has never been title it should have the 3 yrs 36 mths factory warranty.

BTW, I would not paid no more than $30K and go with a fine toothbrush around the car until you are completely satisfy this car has not been in a wreck. I would take it to a body shop.

Remember that the dealership doesn't have to disclose if the damage was not more than certain percentage. Maybe Fusz Nissan can ring on this, plus check your local laws.

That sounds like a familiar story I heard from a dealer close to me. I was told via email that the owner of the dealership drove the car on personal business several times and put the miles on the car. It was 1/3 of the miles you say that car has on it. They want mid 34k, Touring, sport, nav, 6mt, with some other stuff like splash and carpeted trunk, and floor mats. They're having a hard time selling it for that price.

sounds like a demo car - general manager of the dealership probably used it as his personal vehicle for 3k miles. It was never titled so it still counts as a new car.

Thanks for the input guys. Assuming the car is in good condition, what would be a reasonable amount to offer for it?

I would plan on asking for a Carfax report (or other vehicle history report), maintenance logs (3,750 mile oil-change should be coming up soon, and if they haven't done it yet, ask for it as part of the sale), I'll visually inspect it, test drive it, and maybe even take it to a body shop for them to look at. Does all that sound worthwhile / reasonable? I don't want to be a jerk asking / doing all this stuff, but with it having miles on it, I'd want to make sure it was in good condition.

Knock off as much as a used one would be, don't fall for the dealership owned crap.

Exactly miles are miles regardless. The car is used and tell them you dont care to have all the little extras so take them out. They will just throw them in. Me personally I wouldnt buy it unless it was taken to a shop and I cant remember the name but its a vehicle history report done by one of the major credit bureaus. Stay away from carfax they have been know to leave some things out, And of course it was a damn good deal.
