So my dealer called me today. To kid with me he says "Hey... we couldn't get the allocation for your car...................BUT we called another dealer and they didn't want one of the Z's they were allocated so they let us have it and it should be here end of May/begining of June"
I guess the other dealership didn't want the liability of having a 2010 Z if they've got a bunch of 09's... Can they can trade allocation for cars ? Have you heard of this fuzz? |
Ordered Mine
I ordered mine on 2/21/10 through Overseas Military Sales Corp who claim to deal directly with the factory.
My order: 2010 7AT Touring Black Cherry/Black Int Sport + Nav Splash Guards Floor Mats + Trunk Mat Illuminated Kick Plate Total - $38,819 with delivery in Hawaii, mid June. I am hoping for earlier since my deployment ends in May but I will be happy as long as it's not delayed. |
When does Nissan stop taking new production orders for 2010 models? At what point in the year will I be stuck choosing from existing inventory?

I got a VPP number from Robert , got all excited, now the reality sets in. No cars meeting my choices.
I wanted a Touring Roadster, Manual Trans, Pearl white, interior wine, second choice gray, no preference re: Nav or sport, meaning included or not, either way is OK. My dealer found no cars, including in transit. Now he is hoping to find something in a new allocation on Mar 10. Only three weeks left in the VPP program. I'm not sure what I will do if nothing is found. Maybe give up altogether. It just too hard to buy this car - been trying for a month. If anyone has knowledge of a car meeting the description above anywhere please let me know. |
I'm experiencing a very similar situation. Just contacted Robert for a VPP claim number today. The same dealer that quoted me at 300 under invoice on a 2010 order also accepts VPP. Sales Manager told me to get him my claim number ASAP. I'm thinking If I get VPP pricing, place the order, and make a decent payment I could "lock in" the sale during the month of March... No?

Rick, Unfortunately no. The VPP claim numbers Robert is issuing to us is for a promotion where the sale has to be completed by 3/31, so ordering a car doesn't work.
Your choices are like mine, take an available car which is not exactly what you want, or order a car, lose the VPP, and wait for delivery in June which is approaching model year end. I got one offer at $600 under from a dealer about 1 hour from me in response to the American Express program, however $300 under is a very good price. One of the dealers posting here says that Nissan plans to bring in more cars in the spring when the weather improves, so another option is to do nothing and see what comes in. Will Nissan have a really good discount for model year end, who knows, but if you order and don't get the car until June, or maybe late June, you are very close to year end promotions. Waiting might be a better option. Did you post what exactly you want on this board? |

I almost bought mine from hunt club but I didn't like the way they we're negotiating so I bought a base one from 417 for 43.2k after everything.. havn't seen many 370's in ottawa yet though :) |
Also please read the VVP thread I updated.
VPP discounts have now changed. |

I haven't seen many either. I've seen one black one that's been tricked out a bit. Looks like it's been dropped and has custom wheels, very dark tint - is that you? I've seen a yellow, non-sport package a couple of times and when I picked mine up there was another CS. |
