Bought an GTR. Brandnew. got some issue at carfax?

I just bought this and saw the vin number has (2) issue at carfax.com i don't know whats that issue I don't want to mention the dealership. the VIN number of the GTR is:

JN1AR5EF7AM231270

can someone help me out whats the issue of the GTR?:eekdance:

If someone has a who saw or know this car problem without looking at carfax please let me know

theDreamer 12-22-2009 07:55 PM

A couple of different things:
~Could be when it arrived in the US
~You registering it
~Its arrival at the dealership

nogoodname 12-22-2009 07:56 PM

Did you just look it up on carfax or did you actually get the report??

Cause carfax also lists registration and stuff. That could be the two things.

I just looked at carfax. I don't have an account to get a report.

AK370Z 12-22-2009 07:58 PM

Did you look at the actual carfax report? or are you asking for someone to run your vin for a report?

It's against forum rules to ask for carfax report

Just buy the report on ur own. 20 bucks on a 80k car is worth to check. Don't ya think??

Asi 12-22-2009 08:03 PM

bad thing is I already paid for it bank transfered and I don't wanna take a refund if the problem is not that serious

Well I wish I can keep my Z when this arrives at here but I don't have the funds to do so.

spearfish25 12-22-2009 08:47 PM

You're one weird bird. You ask US to buy YOU a Carfax report after you drop 80 large on a car?

Division 12-22-2009 09:54 PM

you don't get 80 grand to spend on a car throwing money around...

Zsteve 12-22-2009 11:15 PM

Should have had the dealer look that up for you.

matrix_square 12-23-2009 12:31 AM

dealerships have started using autocheck more than carfax lately. Just thought i`d let you know. I believe autocheck is also more consistent than carfax.

motoextreme 12-23-2009 01:02 AM

Looks like you may of been ripped off. Tell you what, I'll give you $25K for it.

Kidding...nice ride man. All you need now is to start the mods!

haha! no worries man, thanks for the complement. I wanna feel the car before the mods. well this clears the issue at carfax, only minorabout transfering the car dealer to dealer and the mileage is written all over it.

nogoodname 12-23-2009 04:21 AM

Dealer to dealer is a common thing. Especially for a rare car like the GTR.

Slynky 12-23-2009 06:14 AM

So, Asi, out of curiosity (and no large amount of disrespect intended), how can you afford to pay cash for a GTR? It would appear from your typing skills that you're not some highly-paid college grad "makin' tha big bucks". And, as others have intimated, it seems odd to drop that kind of money on a vehicle and then worry about paying for a Carfax report. Hey! If you're the son of some famous celebrity, you gotta fess up ! ;)

no offense taken our business is grey market car importation to another country. I only saw pictures of this car that the dealership sent via email and the only option i can buy cars in the USA was to pay it full. bank transfered, dealer won't allow exporters to loan cars from them yeah sad story. but i don't have a US credit bank as you can see because im not a resident. I'm sorry if I offended anyone or Intimidated some people and btw I panic earlier because of the carfax so that cause myself to type type type without fixing the words :tiphat:

I'll take pictures of my current ride later and post it

thanks peace off!:happydance:

That's cool ! So, you live out of the country (US)? I've been to about 25 different countries...may I ask what country you live in?

He is an exporter and buys and sells cars in the black market overseas.

motoextreme 12-23-2009 09:56 AM

Remember a few years ago. Guy wrecks an Enzo in Malibu canyon, car basically gets cut in half but car has no paperwork? turns out the guy lives in a Multi Million $ house and had a few other Super Exotic rides. They pull his wife over in Hollywood area and snatch her McLauren (I think that's what it was).

He was some European guy, big mystery at the time.

End result... He was Buying Cars in Europe, financing them and putting them in containers bringing them to the States but reporting them stolen back home or simply not making payments.

Not to sound like a Paranoid freak but personally the whole ordeal seemed like BS. That guy was doing something a little more in depth then smuggling in stolen cars. Sounds like a plot like that movie SWORDFISH, whole thing was really weird but who knows...

I was victim to something like this back in 2000. Bought my first MV Agusta back before people knew what they were. Turned out the bike was brought in Grey Market, couldnt register it and had numerous letters telling me it that I needed to turn it in. Screw that! Ended up selling it to a Collector in AZ.

At least this thread is a little interesting now

bad for you. well the way I do it is . I buy the cars from overseas pay them with cash bank transfered. ship the car to the shipping lines ask them (the dealership) to clear some export papers then ask the shipping lines to deliver the car here at my country via container boats. I don't wanna get on trouble on some oversea country it creeps me. :shakes head:

btw here nissan dealers don't sell gtrs or 370z so the only way to get it is import my own.
