2010 for invoice price... good deal?

I'm searching for a 2010 now, and the local dealers are offering me the invoice price... is this a good deal? Should I be pushing for under invoice? how much under?

Thanks again, gang.

azn370z 12-03-2009 04:57 PM

Yes that's a good deal. It's possible to do better but I would take that deal.

I doubt you can go under invoice. 2009 yes, not 2010.

to go under invoice you have to wait at least next august.

nogoodname 12-03-2009 05:27 PM

for a 2010, thats a great deal.

if it were a '09, then you could push them....

HapHazard 12-03-2009 05:27 PM

Thanks guys. Looks like I'm all set, then.

Hey I live in the BayArea too. I have an idea, you and I can go to the same dealer and tell them each of us wants a Z, and maybe they would be more willing to give us under invoice.

Us two have more bargaining power than just you or me walking in alone.

Shoot me an email. lemme know.

HapHazard 12-03-2009 05:53 PM

PM'ed you.

He pm'ed me and I replied back. Still waiting to hear back from him.

can you tell me you are looking for: auto/manual, base, sports package, color? so i can check the inventory to see which dealer has our models.

HapHazard 12-04-2009 04:55 PM

I'm hoping to buy this month.

The guy buying my old Z backed out on me, so I had to repost it on all the sites. I don't want to purchase the new one until I sell off the old one. Might not be until after the holidays.

thats cool man. You won't be able to get tax deductibles after Dec 31.

HapHazard 12-04-2009 08:58 PM

I'm going to hit some dealerships tomorrow (Saturday) to see what kind of trade-in they'll give me for it. If it's not too bad, I'll just take the hit rather than go through the hassle of selling it myself...

It's my '96 300zx Twin Turbo, by the way. Check it out... why would anyone back out of buying this? (actually, why would I sell it? :()

jayhuffdaddy 12-04-2009 09:07 PM

Take it at invoice. I got mine for $55 over just because my splash guards got kicked from the order. They also threw in the free wheel locks and tint.

ban25 12-06-2009 12:57 PM

I'm also in SF and looking to buy a 2010. Which dealer did you go to?

ban25 12-06-2009 12:58 PM

*Don't* trade that car. If you really want to get rid of it, do a private sale. There are plenty of people willing to pay good money for a 300zx. Hell I'd buy it off you if I had more garage space.

zmyride 12-08-2009 04:50 PM

I went to Dublin Nissan last nite. They have about:

ten 2009 Zs manual/auto, graphite/yellow/black/white
one 2010 Z manual
three 2010 Z touring convertible
two 2010 nismo

I gave them MSRP out-the-door on 2010 black auto sport package (not on lot. special order) but they would not sell me. They want $36555 out-the-door.

i am so bummed right now.

but they're willing to sell MSRP on any i mean any 09 models. I pick and choose any 09s.

MSRP?? Or invoice price?

coaster 12-09-2009 02:00 AM

For the guys out in the bay area, I recommend Premier Nissan in SJ. Rick Beal really took care of me.

That makes no sense? they are not the same thing...

scatwork 12-09-2009 07:10 PM

Just rec'd an email from my local dealer. They have a 2010 Tour/Sprt/Nav/Auto... sticker = $42,110. They told me they'd do MSRP out-the-door including T&L.

Do the math and it equates to ~$200 under invoice. I didn't think that was bad for a just released new model year.

It's a buyer's market. I would not pay more than invoice on 2009 models. Within the hour, I am going shopping for a Nismo. Will trade in the 05 ZR. Gonna shoot for OTD $38-39k.

wangje 12-11-2009 08:01 PM

Just signed my contract OTD @ MSRP in bayarea. Getting the car on Monday after Tahoe trip. If you want the same deal, PM me..... Looking forward to my 2010 370Z touring + sports + Navi.

Slynky 12-11-2009 08:08 PM

Let me make sure I understand this phrase: "MSRP OTD".

So, this means that the stealership made the bottom line of the sales sticker = the bottom line of the total cost of purchase. In order to do this and add in tax, title, etc., the MSRP price was backed off to the tune of 2-3 thousand dollars so it would all add up to the bottom-line price on the sales sticker?

You know, on the sales sticker at the dealership I went to, they had bulls--t stuff added in like over $1,100 for some paint sealant or something. And another nearly $500 for some protection package. That's just pure built-in profit. The difference between invoice and the total price on this NISMO I saw was over $6,000 !!!

I saw one today at Walnut Creek Nissan, but it's a 2009 touring sports navi automatic.

they're willing to sell me around $35-$36K, but i'm still debating.

how much did you buy yours? where? is it auto or manual?

wangje 12-14-2009 02:50 PM

haha~ just got my car yesterday..... Love the look~

("My" MSRP OTD) = (Price + Destination Fee + tax) = $41910
2010 White Auto Touring + sports + navi + L92 + L94

If you're interested in the same deal, MUST PM me your
contact and name. I'll forward it to the sales guy. I DON'T
provide dealer/sale's name, and I don't respond to similar
requests.

way2fast 12-15-2009 03:15 PM

In the Florida area the best price I was able to find on 2009 coupes is invoice, not a penny less. The dealers seem to agree that the 2010 roadsters are now available but the 10's coupe will not hit showrooms until next spring. From the posts here it seems like some have already received a 2010 ?? I read about some of the large discounts that bring the sale price to thousands under invoice. I can't help but wonder if these discounts are on car purchases where a trade in was part of the deal. The amount given on a trade can throw the real sales price out the window. What type of discounts are people getting on a cash purchase where no trade is included?
Any recommendations on a FL dealer who sells for under invoice?
Thanks

dweedlebug 12-15-2009 03:41 PM

Not sure why everyone thinks my deal is anything other than what it is:

$2,420 under invoice + $200 doc/tag fee + tax.

Cash, no trade.
