:iagree: I think MSRP is like $900 per wheel or something crazy like that.

Hubby and I are discussing the possible outcomes.
At minimum the tires and the rims
Cash refund
Reporting the fraudulent advertising to State Department of Consumer Affairs and I have a way to get the complaint noticed.

At their first sign of them balking at whatever you decide to demand/ask from them, I'd drop that this is on your "to-do list" with a copy of your complaint going to the state attorney general.

I think their calling it a 370Z Sport as well as listing "Trim: Sport" not only implies, but represents, it is the Sport Package.

What a mess. Good luck.

volusia 05-30-2015 03:42 PM

I just did KBB on similar car like yours with and without Sport Pkg. It only adds $1500 to the value so they might try to use that figure as a leverage if they ever decide to settle with you.. They might offer you some service items that they randomly price(outrageously priced of course) in lieu of that $1500 difference. Anyway, demand whatever you think you should and good luck!

CarFax Buyback???

I believe the advertising COMPLETELY mislead what you were buying. It matters little or not that you knew it was what they stated it was. It WAS NOT as advertised.
And what's with this CarFax Buyback thing?

Anyway, all that really matters is if you end up where the whole situation doesn't eat you up inside. Get out of them what makes you happy for their 'rip off tactics'. If you aren't satisfied get them to take it back. Walk away with clean hands and concience and find another one.
I can't comment on the deal you got. I am up here in the Great White North and it's tough to compare things with the shape of our dollar and what they want for Zs up here.

Best of luck.

The only thing I can find is you can charge them for the 19's ray wheels. As its the only one listed in the spec.

The argument would be is they would say sport which means sports car and not sports package!

Definitely they misrepresented the car in the ads.
As you have said even for a base Z you still got it lower than the market price. Thats another argument they might use against your claim.

But yes I hate to get the one that you didn't like.

Update us what the dealer would say when you come back and see them.

Can't really agree unless OP walks away with restitution she cannot refuse. Base below market or not; the OP didn't get what was advertised....whether she knew it or not. I'd want a Sport as advertised or my money back. Period.

Something far less than this happened when I did my deal and it ate at me for months.

Geez.....up here Sport came with Nav since 2014 and was a $5000 option. If you got Sport, you got Nav, period. 2013 was the last year up here where Nav and Sport were two separate options. But that's up here.
Only $1500? Wow.

It would kill me to know I got burnt. I'd only settle for them taking the car back, but I'm not the OP.

I freaking hate car dealerships.

While I personally believe that the way they advertised it was incorrect and misleading, I do hope you realize that you are not completely without fault here. The dealer should have done its due diligence, but they made a fairly easy mistake and I doubt it was deliberate. I would expect them to offer to help you out in some way if they are a reputable dealer because it was their mistake first, but are you entitled to $4000 or $5000 over this? Probably not.

There is a difference between mislabeling a vehicle and painting the calipers and putting a "Sport" badge on it. I hope you get what you want, but do keep yourself grounded in this battle with the dealer. I see a lot of people throwing numbers around on this thread that are just not going to happen.

They can offer service but I will *never* let them touch this car. I have free oil changes there but I will take it elsewhere and pay. We actually own a Hyundai and we're planning on how to get rid of it.

I'm back to an excellent deal for a baseZ that has a rear deck spoiler.

I completely understand what you are saying and no, I was not expecting $4000-5000.

The general manager made what we considered to be a fair offer for their part of the misrepresentation. We shook hands and I am satisfied with the outcome.

I'm back to an excellent deal for a base that has a rear deck spoiler (that was on the car day of purchase).

Blacklisted91 06-01-2015 04:29 PM

What did they offer?

The spoiler was on the car the day I purchased it.

If I factor in new MSRP price, spoiler, trunk/floor mats, destination charge I am at $5845 below sticker for a base Z that was was used for about 2750 miles.

Zbrah 06-01-2015 06:09 PM

Did the stealership told you the spoiler costs $1200? You can buy it off ebay for a few hundred, some even come pre painted.

No. The spoiler is not part of the settlement. It was on the car from day 1.
The settlement is the cash.

Blacklisted91 06-01-2015 06:22 PM

How much cash?

Zbrah 06-01-2015 06:45 PM

Oh sorry I misread your post. What was the settlement?

Zoren 370 06-01-2015 10:25 PM

I think Op is no longer inclined to disclose the result of the settlement in a form of the amount of cash.

Looks like she is dodging the questions now.

And insisting on going back to topic of the Thread a "I got a killer deal! "

glad it ended you being satisfied with the deal.

HulaGirl 06-09-2015 05:14 PM

Sorry to drop off but everything was not finalized and I decided best to not jinx myself.
Gen Manager was very nice. There was a cash settlement and I'm happy to still be a Z car owner

90 ST 06-09-2015 11:30 PM

So you got money for mods, sweet!

Zbrah 06-10-2015 12:02 AM

Glad to hear everything worked out and you're still a happy Z owner. Congrats!!

POS VETT 06-10-2015 05:52 AM

HulaGirl - I'm glad it was resolved to your satisfaction. This kind of mistake is inexcusable for a Nissan dealer, but they made it right to you. Enjoy the car!

Just to clarify, car was purchased new at a Nissan dealership but traded to a Hyundai dealership 2 months later.

Yep! Ordered splash guards earlier this week. Since this will be my year'round driver Ill be looking for all-season tires (no lectures please :icon17: ) and looking to sell my stock tires. Now I'm like, "What next?"

Debiandog 06-11-2015 01:45 PM

Next? A different exhaust because it sounds sexier running through the gears
