for those who went Base only, what you pay???

I dont know if things with change with the 10's but I'm having a hell of a time finding Base+Sport so I'm starting to focus on a base only model

what did you pay before taxes, tags and title???

Check out Fusz's thread about helping people find their Z. He can, when he has some time, look at the nearest dealerships to see who has the color/options you want.

Base + Sports shouldn't be hard to find...unless you want 6spd as well. Touring/Sports/Nav/6MT seem to be the hardest combo to find, as well as anything with the Persimmon interior.

Most people are paying invoice +/- $500, no matter the configuration, so expect to pay 27500-28500 for base, and 31000-32000 for base/sports, both assuming manual transmission.

I paid about $35K for mine otd, it's a base w/ sport package.

for the base, you'll get floor mats, trunk mats, kick plates w/ z logo, cd/fm radio, cruise control and volume on the steering wheel. leather wrapped steering wheel and center console. 18 inch wheels and tires.

The base doesn't come with leather seats does it? I don't know if I could live without that.

areyouin729 10-21-2009 08:33 AM

^ I actually have always preferred cloth seats

I thinking right after the holidays I will prob purchase a base model

I'm going for $28,000 before tax,tags,title

Touring is the only option to get leather and power seats. However, aftermarket shops are quoting around $1000 to change the cloth seats out if you end up getting the base, which is abou 1/4 of the price of the touring package (stereo, Bluetooth, leather, heated, power seats, etc).

Remember, OTD for some people include up to 9% tax while others may not have that. OTD can range by over $2000....which is why most people use pre-Tax/Tag/Title pricing.

i know a few dealers around here so i actually got a base z with all the mats illuminated kick plates splash guards for 28000 with 6 miles on the odometer and the sticker on it was right under 31

Wow! I'll give you what you paid and throw in an extra $15 right now.

Seriously though, it does tell you what dealers could sell a car for doesn't it. Although there could always be other factors we're missing.

There are too many varibles, you need to focus on the price before sales tax, but including dealer fees. There are dealers that will sell you a base + sport for 29,999, but they have a 700 dealer fee and a 299 title fee. Every market is different, inovices are on the internet for a reason, strike a deal at or close to inovice and you have done well. But watch out for fees and add-ons!

Same thing happened to me with my ex wife. Very little cost going into the deal, but then I added some really nice headlights to the front at $7k, gym maintenance at $120 a month, had the handles shaved to improve a sleek line for 3k, saved a few dollars by not purchasing a bra but ended up costing me more due to excessive handling. Eventually it was cheaper to dump her and lease a newer smaller model on a month to month basis. Plus changing the oil is a lot more fun on these tight racing models.

If you want sport don't settle for just a base because it's proving difficult to find what you are looking for. You will regret your decision for settling. Also, just because the 2010's are coming doesn't mean you will get a better deal on the 09's. The 09's since launch have been going for invoice. With the economy the way it is I see the 2010's also going for invoice. If you can't find what you want right now just be patient until you can find it, either as an 09 or 2010. I almost settled because I couldn't find the combo I wanted but persisted and eventually got what I wanted. I couldn't be happier and know that had I settled I wouldn't be as happy as I am today.

I guess you did, and good for you. In S. California, the sales tax is 9.25% (I believe) in April 2009. Plus you pay document, title, and applicable fees. It roughs up to something over 10%.
