I just jizzed all over Selena Gomez's face.

kazman 04-01-2014 10:52 AM

nice man, a friend sent me a pic of this from IA the other day. they said it was all wrapped though? isnt it all real CF?

Carbon_z 04-01-2014 10:56 AM

yes its ALL REAL lol. Your friend is a moron if he thinks it is a wrap job lol.

lt_370z 04-01-2014 11:12 AM

he just never thought it was possible probably lol

Meulen 04-01-2014 11:12 AM

Cool! But shouldn't you have CF Wheels? LOL :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

coolvans1988 04-01-2014 11:20 AM

Looks sick! Any chance on knowing on the full weight of the car?

Hopefully you keep it longer than 1 year.

VRSean 04-01-2014 11:21 AM

Are the caps over the doors from Seibon? For some reason they really stand out. Car looks really good in CF, I just keep thinking well placed paint will send this over the top for sure

Carbon_z 04-01-2014 11:30 AM

the weave matches in all directions. There are a total of three different companies that I went through to get parts for the Z.

Awesome. I am going to start saving now for when you get tired of the car and start to part out the cf :p

Wonka2581 04-01-2014 12:47 PM

the only piece your missing... the EVO R door handle covers!!! im guessing you would've had them by now if you liked them?

Z370Z011 04-01-2014 01:25 PM

Just curious, and not that it matters. But have you ever thought of weighing the Z to see how much lighter it might be?

Unless it's all dry carbon, I'd be shocked if there was any weight savings. It's a visual thing, not a performance thing.

Not knocking anything the OP has done- it's awesome. It's just unlikely there's a lot of weight savings over Al.

Wonka2581 04-01-2014 01:38 PM

:iagree: Wet carbon is heavy, Now if it were dry carbon diffrent story. But dry carbon is 2X-3X more expensive...

gbrettin 04-01-2014 01:45 PM

OP, put the car on a scale sometime. It would be cool to see the numbers.

Nice work overall!

///PureSwank 04-01-2014 01:47 PM

There is a guy who did this with his gtr over at gtrlife forum. He went one step further and had the actual shell made from carbon fiber as well. That's crazy.

love it

congrats on finally completing it, I know those rear panels were the last piece of the puzzle. Looks amazing.

Zteven 04-02-2014 02:38 AM

Definitely gotta give you props, I've seen your car referenced all over the net and there have been haters and non believers but that is clearly quality work and you can't knock on that plus I'm sure it looks mean as hell in person!

Riptide67 04-02-2014 01:12 PM

I know with my car personally, there was virtually no weight saved from OEM hood to CF hood. But as for the swap from OEM fenders to CF fenders, there is definitely a weight drop.

I'm guessing there was little weight savings from this project if not the opposite. I assume the rear quarters are stock with overlaid carbon fiber (basing that assumption on him not answering that question directly).

Either way, the car definitely looks killer and is a complete work of art!

Carbon_z 04-02-2014 02:46 PM

the car is lighter.. The seibon door shells are 14 lbs each the stocks are around 26, dry is around 10lb. So carbon fiber is lighter but its not a fox body mustang obviously. Nissan did a wonderful job building the z with lightweight aluminum

Carbon_z 04-02-2014 03:10 PM

hey billet, how did you secure the splitters to your hood? I have a set and they need some work to fit properly and I am debating ever putting mine on.

axmea? 05-09-2014 12:37 PM

Repped for awesomeness. Do you have any special cleaners or chemicals that you use specifically for it? I imagine that it can be challenging.

Elmo370z 05-21-2014 12:30 AM

HWO much weight did you shave off?

qickdraw 05-21-2014 12:45 AM
